NEW YORK Picnics on top of altars? Wiccans say they don't have them -- and they don't like O'Donnell spreading bunk. Ben Crair reports on the comments that may cost her the pagan vote.
"Witchcraft" video showing Delaware Tea Party sensation Christine ODonnell describing a date she once had with a witch dominated the airwaves Monday. I mean, theres a little blood and stuff like that, she told Bill Maher in a late 90s clip from Politically Incorrect. We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a satanic altar.
The footage delighted Democrats looking to embarrass the GOP Senate nominee, frightened Republicans, and alienated another constituency: witches, who say ODonnells 1999 discussion of the subject is bunkand bad publicity for the coven.
We dont have picnics on top of altars, said Selena Fox, Wiccan high priestess for the Circle Sanctuary in Wisconsin. We are not Satanist. And we have good character, not questionable character. (At a non-Satanic picnic in Delaware on Sunday, ODonnell brushed aside questions about her comments by asking, How many of you didnt hang out with questionable folks in high school?)
A couple of my local politician friends say shes losing the Wiccan vote, said Dominguez. Well, I said she never had the pagan vote for the most part to begin with.
In 2008, 1.2 percent of American adults, nearly 3 million people, declared themselves followers of New Religious Movements, the category that includes Wicca and other pagan belief systems.
Wicca is a naturalistic religion whose followers generally worship a pantheistic Godhead and practice magic.
...
The old nature religions of Europe were persecuted for hundreds of years, she said, and part of a tactic for suppressing the pagan practices of old was to label them Satanic or demonic.

So Christine O’Donnell just lost the Coven vote... she is SOL now! /s
How large are the wiccan votes in DE? Are they as divided as the DE GOPers on O’Donnell?
She will be on Fox News tonight to counter all this, but she needs to start attacking soon, she certainly has plenty of money to give hell to the bearded marxist.
These Wiccans are genuine morons to make such a fuss over what a teenager did many years ago. Of course, they just want the free publicity.
Actually being rejected by the WICCANS might give O’Donnell a boost!
Keeping the witch story alive. Next up... the misuse of campaign funds scandal story. sigh
Welp, there goes the wiccan vote ...
She needs to mock this and then ignore it. Maybe make a joke about her fight for the all important wiccan demographic. It looks like she’s losing both the pony-tailed marxists and the tenured gaia-worshippers to her opponent. Laugh and then talk about what she wants to talk about.
She used to know a “witch”. She’s running against a marxist. Which one does the press want to talk about?
I know you jest but truth is stanger than fiction:

These stupid Wicca people imagine they have a monopoly on Satanic worship. How ignant!
I knew she would make them mad..bad time of year to joke about witches. I think its a religion.
I’m pretty sure wiccans vote democrat most of the time. At least the ones that went to my Episcopal Church did.
now why would that be...wonder how many witches are in teaparty mode.
Do you accuse other polytheistic religions (Hindu, Shinto, etc.) of “Satanic worship,” or just Wicca?
Do you accuse other polytheistic religions (Hindu, Shinto, etc.) of “Satanic worship,” or just Wicca?
We can expect one attack after another from now on until election day by the dimoKKKRATS, msm, Delaware GOP and RINOs. She is going to have to be strong to put up with the onslaught.
I don’t particularly care. I’m only concerned with the Wicca claim to exclusive representation ~
