Press Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami Drew Hammill/202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 09/20/2010 Pelosi: Effects Of Bush Recession Are Still Being Felt by Millions of Americans and Small Businesses
Washington, D.C. Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on a report from the National Bureau of Economic Research declaring that the Bush recession ended in June 2009:
Today, some economists determined that the Bush recession officially ended more than a year ago, but we know that because of its severity, the effects of the Bush recession are still being felt by millions of Americans and small businesses. We have and we will continue to act to create jobs, strengthen our economy, and move in the right direction.
Thats why despite Republican opposition and months of Senate Republican obstruction and delay this week the House will pass the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act and send it to President Obama for his signature into law. This fully paid-for bill will help create 500,000 jobs, reduce taxes for small businesses, and provide hundreds of billions of dollars in private sector capital to small businesses so they can innovate and hire new workers.
Congressional Republicans have made it clear that will oppose all efforts to help small businesses grow, voting against nearly all of the eight tax cuts for small businesses that have been signed into law. Top Republicans have opposed our Make It in America manufacturing agenda that will create good-paying jobs here in America. In fact, from their opposition to Wall Street reform to wanting to repeal new patients rights, the Republican agenda continues to be about taking care of big corporations and sending American jobs overseas.
With legislation like the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act, we will continue to move forward to economic security for all Americans. We will put an end to the Bush recession that Americans can really feel and build a stronger new foundation for our economic future.
Pelosi is nothing more than a lying political hack. That is her sum total.
you have to put in your name and stuff.
Put cursor over the area of your state and your US Rep will pop up with the tax hikes and job losses
Wow, according to Pelosi those Bush policies have had such a powerful and lingering negative effect that all “the good” the valiant Demonrats have done in almost two years has not been able to mitigate their malignant impact on the economy; indeed, they’re making it get even worse.
Pelosi will be spinning like a top on November 3, as will all members of the Demonrat hierarchy.
When Bush was President, he was characterized as an incompetent boob. Now we are to believe he is such a genius that he is causing our economy to struggle two years removed from office.
Obama and Pelosi both said the recession ended over a year ago. Hard to walk that back and blame Bush after the mid-terms.
It’s the economy, stupid...caused by sub-prime lending forced upon banks by Democratic congressmen. It’s that simple.
The woman is a complete fool.
Hell, it was the Bush World War I, too, wasn't it, you bug-eyed nutskinner?
When is socialism (both, U.S. socialism and worldwide socialism) going to, finally, end, if ever?
Funny, in that pic, she looks a bit like Stan Laurel with hair.
Can’t wait to see her face when the GOP takes it back!
