I can hear most CFL’s. That causes a headache, not to mention the flicker-induced eye strain. My husband tried to sneak one into the bathroom light fixture and I had to take it out.

We’re slowly replacing our incandescent bulbs with LED’s. But as an artist, I am very sorry to see the Reveal bulbs disappear.

I presume you have a hightened sense of color. In that case, it's hard to find a good light source (other than your north-facing studio window ≤}B^).

Flourescents are available with high CRI's (Color Rendering Indexes) which are difficult for either incandescents or present-day LEDs to match. But the LEDs are coming down the learning curve on this. I think that a variation of the "Quantum Dot" LED in combination with new phosphors will finally get there.

I cannot have the CFLs anywhere I need to make a color distinction. During the day, I can just go to a window, but in winter or at night, those work areas need to have daylight bulbs.
