Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell responded to old clips that surfaced over the weekend where she said she had once "dabbled in witchcraft," clarifying at a GOP picnic in Delaware Sunday, "I was in high school, how many of you didn't hang out with questionable folks in high school? But no, There's been no witchcraft since, if there was, Karl Rove would be a supporter."
The jab at the former President George W. Bush senior adviser came after Rove had cast doubt on her ability to carry the state for the GOP and said there are too many questions about her past.
The nominee showed up at the picnic in a key county that helped secure her GOP Tuesday primary upset, despite canceling previously scheduled appearances on "Fox News Sunday" and CBS' "Face the Nation." Her campaign backed out of the talk show interviews, saying she needed to get back to Delaware and had a scheduling conflict, including attending church and then the afternoon picnic.
She was greeted with a raucous applause at the annual Sussex County GOP picnic with chants of "yes we can" and "yes we will!"
Many in the crowd kept saying "get over it," to the media when she clarified her original witchcraft comments, which included her giving details about a date she had with a witch. The 1999 tape from "Politically Incorrect" first surfaced Friday when Bill Maher aired it on "Real Time with Bill Maher," saying he would keep airing clips until she appeared on his show.
Local Republicans seemed un-phased by the latest clip, which followed other television interviews that surfaced where O'Donnell talked about such issues as sex and condoms on MTV and to Phil Donahue.

I think that she may already have put a hex on the Dems and few Republicans to boot.
JMO, but I think this issue is making the MSM look goofier than CO’D.
Response: This is yet another way of dealing with it. However, keep the response down to one or two statements at the most. Silence would be another way.
Comment: By the way, Rove should stop dealing with Delaware election until he can say something nice about a fellow Republican.
But thats the dirty little secret the media won't tell - they can only provide the left leg - the target needs to provide the right one or the smear can only hop in a circle.
OK I know, but you get the idea.
Rove tried to pull an inside sneak on the 9-12 Delaware Patriots to get support for Mike Castle...
Russ Murphy would have none of it! (Good Man!)

Guess they think Castle’s Rove tactics (smear-smear-smear)just needed a couple more months till people would believe them... Geeesh. Just proves to me that Christine is the RIGHT Choice!
For her or the frog?
Got the idea. However, Rove should now stop the negative speaking about a fellow Republican. That was Reagan’s famous Eleventh Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.”
>>>But Karl Rove no longer runs campaigns.<<<
Are you REALLY SURE of that?
Check out post #46 and then ask - Campaigning or Reporting?
I hope a lot of folks feel as you do. If they do then this will turn out to be a non-issue.
Remember that old test for discovering if someone was a witch? If they drowned they were not a witch, but still dead, and if they survived, they were a witch and had to be burned at the stake. So, I propose an updated version...if she wins, she was a witch and gets to serve, if she loses it means she was not a witch and the election has to go to her because she was slandered. My test is a win-win for the accused, as opposed to the original which was a lose-lose.
Well wouldn’t that be a date with a “warlock” instead of a “witch”? Witches are female are they not? Or is there more to this story...
Its clear this is all just a career move for Rove, when the rest of us consider it a fight for survival.
But he's apparently unaware that he's made himself a political orphan - the left hated him, now the right does as well, and at a time when everything is becoming increasingly polarized. Its hard to believe he can't see whats happening.
I can empathize with Christine....I too, had my dark side, my dark past....luckily, the object of my darkness didn’t get elected...(mcgovern)..LOL
You mean like he does with most pols Pub and Dem? He also might have disclosed that he was an active participant in Castle's campaign. You know, the way that paragon of virtue Dick Morris always does when he speaks about someone he has connections with.
Yeah, five days straight ought to be enough. How many stories get that much coverage?
A google search reveals that Mrs Robinson, obamas mother in law, brought witch craft to the white house... need msm to pick up on that and she is well beyond her high school days..
