Bloomberg: Tea Party is a 'boomlet'
The Hill ^ | SEPTEMBER 19, 2010 | Elise Viebeck

Posted on 09/19/2010 4:15:59 PM PDT by RobinMasters

In a wide-ranging interview published Saturday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg characterized the recent increase in Tea-Party rancor as a temporary development in American politics.

"I think there boomlets come along when the public is dissatisfied," he told the New York Times. "There was a Ross Perot boomlet, there was a John McCain boomlet, there’s the Tea Party boomlet."

"Anger, however, is not a government strategy," he added. "It’s not a way to govern."

Bloomberg's skepticism of the Tea Party movement is consistent with his record of endorsements this election cycle. He has backed centrist Republicans and Democrats who he deems capable of compromise — Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in his reelection bid, Republican Mark Kirk of Illinois and Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) for Senat, Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in his reelection bid, and Democrat John Hickenlooper for governor of Colorado.

No it is not and we shouldn’t have to get angry, but we are and until the very last of the corrupt Ruling Class is gone from City Hall, Albany (and other Capitals) and Washington we will not stop. We have had enough.

Unless it's used against smokers. Then, it's a-okay.

Yeah. Some Hollyweird or state run “media” type (can’t remember) said about 6 months ago that the Tea Party was dead. You just keep on believing that muzzie boy.

Again, I post against this supposed “Anger”. Lets not call what we have, Anger. Anger suggests someone who has let go of reason. We are not “angry”, we are determined. We don’t like where the country is headed, we intend to put a stop to it, ASAP. We are not “angry”, we are excited, driven, resolved. We are tired of the MSM driven media induced worship of a man who shouldn’t be elected dog catcher, much less President. We are not angry, we are ready.

Quite the contrary, the change in the political mood of the Nation’s people is a fundamental one, and needs to remain purposefully leaderless. We will pick our leaders but they will be bound to adhere to the principles we stand for.

Backed Centrist Republicans my a**. Up until he ran for Mayor, Bloomberg was a Democrat. He ran as a Republican to avoid the crowded field of Dems which comprises New York City elections, thus securing himself a spot on the ballot. Once there, the liberals who comprise NY City voted for the Dem that they know him to be. Bloomberg’s “Centrist” Republicans are more of the same - Dems in disguise.

Being a rich limousine liberal fundamentalist and using government to enact your fetishes like banning smoking outside is.

After spending 100 million dollars of his own money the last election, Bloomberg barely won.

Condescension is not a way to govern, either. That is clear from the results of your time in office.

Bloomers calls the Tea Party a boomlet? This jerk just barely won reelection after bowdlerizing the term limits law despite spending millions of his own money on the campaign. After winning his second term he deserted the Republican flag-of-convenience he used to get in in the first place so he could now look more progressive and Obambi-like! Boobocrats like him think that when they buy an election that they own the town/city/county/state/country. I do enjoy seeing them get disabused of that notion.
Bloomers is just another panty-bunching liberal who lives in dire fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time.

Shut up, Bloomberg. This is more like a tidal wave that is going to sweep politicians like you right off your lazy, clueless behinds.

How in the world would a pampered putz like Bloomberg know? I’m sure he’s been in close proximity to average people from time to time but he certainly wouldn’t speak to them.
