I don't know which is more amusing: Democrats assuming that any candidate with Tea Party backing is certifiable, or Republicans upset with the idea that RINOs are slowly becoming an endangered species within their own party. One thing is certain: the movement both sides are trying to discredit is revealing what's really in play come November. Ordinary Americans, the very same folks who engender the bipartisan contempt of Beltway insiders, have decided that one of the oldest pieces of conventional wisdom with respect to voting as in "choosing the lesser of two evils" doesn't cut it anymore....The motivation underlying the above-mentioned concepts is a fundamental belief that they represent a return to traditional Constitutional principles, and perhaps more importantly, American exceptionalism. It is the Tea party movement which envisions the greatness of America. It is the Democrat party and its presidential standard-bearer who have made it clear that calculating the plusses and minuses of two hundred and thirty four years of American history nets out on the negative side of the ledger. It is Democrats who consider America a hopelessly racist, bigoted and xenophobic nation in need of a thorough, progressive reboot. That odious attitude alone, coupled with the imperious arrogance that has accompanied it for four years in Congress and two in the Oval Office, has millions of Americans seething...The Republican establishment isn't much better. Only a guru-cum-establishment-hack such as Karl Rove could see the toppling of "reasonable" Mike Castle so reasonable he's refused to back primary winner Christine O'Donnell as bad for the party, because she may not win. Hey Karl, you know what's worse for the party? Running a tiresome RINO like John McCain for president and giving the electorate the worst "lessor of two evils" choice in modern American history....

Vote for CTHULHU - why settle for the lesser evil?
This article rates 100 out of 100.
Splendid.
This is what Rove, Krauthammer, and the “elites in power” are scared of. The Reps have had a cushy deal. Look at how BAD they became after 1994. The Republicans that survived never had a clue as to why they lost the majority.
Truer words are rarely spoken....Bravo to the author!
” The Republicans that survived never had a clue as to why they lost the majority “
These days, one wonders if the Republicans are scared of losing their minority...
bump
Good article, and it has paragraphs.
We want to pick the least of three evils.
The loyal opposition is a nice place to be. No responsibility. Just make a deal that if some pork is thrown their way they will wring their hands about whether we can afford it all while voting for it.
Tom Coburn knows what happened - wrote a good book explaining it all (Breach of Trust). That is why I will never ever ever trust Mr. Gingrich again (not that I ever did in the first place).
Powell, Rove, McCain, heck...MOST OF THE GOP is open borders and LIBERAL!
Republicans/Conservatives gave this bunch unquestioned loyalty and support for many years.
Weve treated them like royalty, seeking them out and paying to hear their words. Weve treated them like celebrities instead of the PUBLIC servants they pledged to be and got paid mightily for it, by all of us.
They hold out carrots of being pro life, strong on defense, and we just melt like silly teenagers at a rock concert. Its just like the minorities, unions, etc. who give unquestioned support to Obama and the democrats.
Its just the opposite side of the same disgusting coin.
And they are ALL just humans, some more so than others.
Most of them are up for sale to the highest bidder, R or D.
I just hope and pray that republicans get a spine/conscience and start cleaning their own house. They cant clean up the democrat mess without cleaning up their own first. Republicans showed that spine when they wouldnt defend Nixon. Well see if they get rid of the egotistical hacks like Rove, Norquist, Gingrich, Armey, McCain, Graham, etc. that just keep promising and just keep selling us out. Its called being USED. I, for one, am tired of it.
And this nonsense about support the best conservative that can win.......
OKAY, GOP big shots....give us a CONSERVATIVE instead of your liberals with an r and we will! Until then, I will vote for the only conservatives in the race.
Excellent article and it sums up my feelings and thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the post and link.
Wow- I had no idea that CTHULHU had already started campaigning for 2012. I guess Barry and Shrillary don’t have a chance now...
You always have and always will have to vote for ‘the lesser of two evils’. All politicians, being humans, will demonstrate some evil in some degree. If you’re going to wait for someone to vote for who is not ‘the lesser of two evils’, then you’ll have to wait for the 2nd Comming.
