My first thoughts also. I guess if a liberal (which Powell most certainly is) asks the resident status of a Mexican or other dark-skinned immigrant that's acceptible. But if law-enforcement asks that would be profiling.

The Democrat-RINO coalition government fooled us for a decade. They kept a lot of the stuff quiet, hoping that conservative voters would remain asleep long enough for Democrats+RINOs to pass amnesty, health care, gay rights, cap & trade...
But now that the Tea Parties have shown that conservatives woke up, and we took out some of the RINOs, the RINO leadership isn’t pretending any more. By announcing his law breaking, Powell is basically speaking for the RINOs: “F you conservatives. Amnesty is coming whether you like it or not. Nothing you do can change it.”
