Here's the real reason Karl Rove flipped out on Christine O'Donnell
Business Insider ^ | 9-17-10 | Joe Weisenthal

The night Christine O'Donnell won the GOP nomination for Senate in Delaware, party stalwart Karl Rove flipped out, and warned that she was a liar, of ill-character, and generally not the kind of person that the party should get behind.

It only took an instant for other party leaders like Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin to flip out right back at him. But why did Rove take this tack? It's not because he's not into right-wingers

What really aggravated me is that I saw Rove using old numbers to make his case in an extremely fluid race.

He was wrong then and I think he's wrong now.

How can anyone disparage Christine when we have a Barack Obama as President!!,I'll take her credentials over his any ol' day.

He’s probably friends with Castle.

That's my guess too.

So the “fight to the death” may be between the conservative and notso conservatives, the one we are seeing on FR with insults, name calling and bullying. ANd who will be left standing like cats eating canaries? The real enemies of this country, not the imaginary ones on FR and in the Republican Party.

I am very worried this is going to happen. And we will all lose.

And if you sit home, we will all have another four years of Obama thanks to a bunch of “do it my way or no way” conservatives who make the perfect the enemy of the good.

In fairness to Rove all he was looking at were the "old" numbers which showed Castle smoking Coons and Christine losing.

I say old numbers because Palin, Bachman and the Tea Party changed all that.

I have no doubt at all that O Donnell will beat Coons it probably won't even be close.

I’m with you.

Some of these threads are so disheartening.

It is. I keep hearing the words “ruling class” and “elites” used, reminds me of some kind of south american revolution with a mob. Disgusting.

People who are educated are roundly dismissed, there is a disdain for decent folks who disagree and a hideous kind of bullying if you aren’t right in line with some people.

They’ve already tried smearing us and it has failed. Next they briefly tryed to co-opt us. We weren’t buying it. What we’re seeing is sheer anger because We The People are now the leaders and omnipresent in the direction this nation is going.

We need to be very cautious in buying into leaders. We are individuals, joined in mutual concensus to take back our nation and freedoms. We have no leaders. If we allow them to succeed in pushing “leaders” on us, they will win.

WE, each and every one of us are the leaders.

Long before this recent affair, I could not understand why anyone thought Karl Rove was some kind of political genius. He got Dubya, the son of a former President and therefore someone with enormous name recognition, elected in TX, a state where almost any warm body with a R label could get elected. He fumbled things so badly that W barely beat a transparent con artist like Algore and a downright weird-looking traitor like John sKerry. Goodbye, Rove, you overrated phony.

Exactly Star.

I thin a lot of this BS is just short term thinking.

It's like mgmt. vs. unions. Top mangers who negotiated with union negotiators used to sell out regularly to unions since their 90 day profit picture, and short term bonus, would look good even though company costs kept rising.

Sowly but surely they became less and less competitive.

It's the same with rinos selling us out to Demoncrats. Short term it might please a Republican adm. get a bill passed for some short term victory. But, long term every time we sell out to the dems we lose a little more freedom, go a little more into debt and sooner or later you have so much fixed costs you go under. ANd, wind up having to take a lawyer with you when you go fishing so you don't break the law.

Just like the mgmt. of firms that gave into the unions over and over and over giving into the dems leads to short term victories but long term disaster. Guys like Rove lack vision.

Sooner or later someone has to stand up for what is right.(Sarah Palin) Right and wrong need to be brought into the picture sooner or later.

Guys like Rove, Newt, McCain, Graham and the Maine sisters only see pragmatism. They don't see the world, the future of the country in terms of right and wrong. And that's wrong.

“...triangulation going on here.”

You probably are right...it is a chess move but Palin and O’Donnell are riding a tidal wave that will remove the board from under his pieces. It is a new day and we are all drinking more tea and liking it. Romney is old news but not old enough, the country doesn’t want him or anyone who doesn’t read the writing on the wall of John Q Public.

In my area there are many tots and babies being named Reagan by the young parents and I see them in the grocery stores, I meet them at the school events. The only one who seems to follow those footsteps is Sarah.

I am perfectly willing to lose until people get the message.

I mean they gave us Juan McCain and I can assure you, without Sarah a good many of us would have sat home to teach the leadership a lesson and more importantly the American citizenry.

Barry is going to fail big time in 2012, if he even runs. I am hearing from many who voted for this great hope that the change they envision is a far cry from what is happening, which is disillusioning.

If in your opinion we should vote for any ole R that comes up as a lesser of two evils strategy, I would suggest that has been done before and we need only do the Hobson choice thing to realize that is a failed strategy to get what you want.

Should we detoriate slowly under an R or quickly under Barry, Nancy and the whole 535 members of Congress and the Senate?

I say “Slap the GO pedal to the carpet” and be done with it...quickly!

Wow. Like a vampire, a Bushbot has risen from the grave. Let's look a little closer at Dubya's record:

1) None of his Supreme Court judges has lifted a finger against unconstitutional expansion of Federal power, like W's "No Child Left Behind" and his Rx drug plan. None of them made the slightest objection to the establishment of a President who refuses to document his eligibilty for the office.

2 ) He cut taxes but did nothing to cut spending, thereby enlarging the deficit and turning off fiscally conservative independents.

3) He was the most politically inept President in at least a generation, allowing the Left to seize the rhetorical initiative. He had no coattails; in fact he inspired a massive defeat for his Party, ushering in our first communist President and Congressional leadership.,

4 ) His only real assertion of Presidential clout was to twist arms and ram through No Child Left Behind in company with the Swimmer Ted Kennedy.

5) He initiated the cycle of bailouts, thereby depriving his Party of a popular issue against the fascists of the Demonrat Party.

Do you really want to still claim some conservative status for this loser?

We conservatives will not NEED to stay home this election, now that principled conservatives are in the election.

So, if you "do it my way the left's way, only slower" liberals, RINOs, and squishes stay home, we may still beat Obama, but it will probably take longer.

Cheers!

Yeah, let me know when stalkers camp outside of Castle's house, or make skits on major network comedy shows accusing him of incest, or national-level pundits say that Castle's children are really the offspring of someone else, based on fictitious timelines.

How's that any different than the utter contempt for the "less-educated" on the part of the liberals and RINOs?

BTW, what is your highest degree attained? What subject is it in?

Cheers!

I know. We’re between a rock and a hard place. I’ve opted for Einstein’s definition of insanity and there is no going back for me. We’ll win some and lose some, but we are already having a huge impact. Enemies are inevitable.

He also wants the GOP to win the majority and sincerely believes that Castle’s loss is detrimental to those chances. A lot of people believe the same thing.

If Rove was serious about wanting the GOP to win the majority then he shouldn't have trashed O'Donnell AFTER she won the nomination.

Instead it's all about Rove's ego and him saving face.
