Calling Karl Rove
The American Spectator ^ | SEPTEMBER 17, 2010 | Quin Hillyer

Posted on 09/18/2010 1:50:25 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Excuse me, sir, Mr. Rove, may I ask a question? When are you going to go on TV and criticize Lisa Murkowski? Here was a lady who swore she would abide by the decision of primary voters, and then didn't. That makes her a liar. Here is a lady who spent an entire announcement speech without a SINGLE mention of principle. Her only argument was that she is somehow more for Alaska than anybody else and that the sainted (and ethically challenged) Ted Stevens was her friend. Nice work, that: claiming an endorsement from a recently dead man who no longer can speak for himself. Where I come from, that's smarmy. It's like Jesse Jackson going on TV wearing clothes that he claimed were covered in MLK's blood.

So if you, Mr. Rove, are so concerned with the Repubilican brand and so concerned with Republicans winning back the Senate, why aren't you out there blasting Murkowski? Inquiring minds want to know. Inquiring minds urged caution about O'Donnell but didn't go on the air trashing her in the nastiest of terms after she won. Inquiring minds realized that was counterproductive. Now inquiring minds want to know why there is a double-standard so that conservatives (even ones with baggage) who upset the apple cart continue to be trashed after they are the party's nominee, while liberal Republicans who upset the apple cart in order to screw over the Republican nominee get a free pass.

“Go Mitt. Go Mitt. Go Mitt.”

“Rove is pushing Romney so aggressively some folks are beginning to wonder what's going on,” grumbled one veteran Republican strategist.”

“Rove has made no secret of his support for Romney as McCain’s VP. ”

It’s one thing to point out the “political” ramifications of the Delaware primary, it’s another thing to be downright nasty the way that Rove bashed O’Donnell on Hannity.

Rove is busy organizing a new wing of the Republican party for the rinos. He will be chairing the Pity party. The motto will be “you have to be connected to get elected”.

The one great thing about “Mittophiles”, they are extremely transparent.

IMHO, Murkowski doesn’t expect to win but for reasons of personal bitterness and a sense of entitlement would rather split the vote just to defeat her political opponent. Republicans are now cursed with rogue politicians who out of sheer personal ambition refuse to follow the will of the voters in a primary election. Here in Florida we have the example of Charley Crist who knew he would roundly defeated by Marco Rubio in the Republican primary - so out of vanity, a personal quest for power and sheer ambition he chose to run as an Independent. For some of them I sincerely believe that destroying their rival by splitting the vote is actually more important than winning.

Reminds me of the guy who kills his ex because “if I can’t have her, nobody will have her!”

...In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.

In January 1981, Krauthammer began his journalistic career, joining The New Republic as a writer and editor. His New Republic writings won the 1984 “National Magazine Award for Essays and Criticism.” In 1983, he began writing essays for Time magazine. In 1985, he began a weekly column for the Washington Post for which he won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for commentary...

Smarmy? The author is smarmy for referring to Stevens as "sainted" and "ethically challenged." Stevens was cleared of wrongdoing but I guess those who threw him under the bus want to keep running over him, even after he has passed.

Classy. /s

So, Karl...

When are you going to criticize Coons for his unelectablity because of his Marxist background and liar baggage?

Karl Rove has no explicitly defined political ideology. He’s an analyst and campaign strategist. If Hillary paid him generously tomorrow, he’d get her elected to any office she wanted with his skills. It’s on all the bottom line baby $$$.

Pungent article by Quin Hillyer with bracingly hard questions for the now-unmasked Karl Rove. A man who has shown that he cares little for conservative principles but lots about getting 'electable' Republicans on the ballot. Electable translating to quasi-liberal RINOs that will swing left on a moments notice once safely in office but will pretend to hold a few 'conservative' positions in their speeches while they 'reluctantly' vote for Democrat bills that harm our economy, our security and, ultimately, our freedom.

During Karl Roves' meltdown on Tuesday night when he pointedly criticized the winner of the Delaware Republican primary for senator, Christine O'Donnell (he hasn't stopped, yet) Rove sounded more like some Democrat hack than anything else (I thought I was watching MSNBC for a moment). This elitist temper tantrum convinced me that Rove and others are Beltway elites who just don't want to face the reality that Obama is destroying our prosperity, our security and our freedom.

Ordinary Americans are rightfully frightened and angry - and determined to stop this slide toward European socialism, led by Obama, Reid and Pelosi. Guys like Karl Rove just see it all as a big chess game, moving the pieces around and the hell with that 'principle' stuff. Why, that kind of talk can make you 'unelectable'.

As Rush Limbaugh and many others have posited: who is Karl Rove, Charles Krauthammer or any other GOP 'insider' to tell the American people who and who is not 'electable'? They can go pound sand. I just hope that Fox drops Rove as soon as possible because I'm getting sick of looking at and listening to him and his lame explanations of why he bashed O'Donnell, while he keeps on bashing her, subtly, of course. Enough of these alleged Republican 'geniuses' that see politics as a big game and fail to realize the enormous stakes in the upcoming election. We, the people, can win elections and govern without their 'expertise'.

Re: Krauthammer’s journalism career history. That needs its own thread. It’s quite the eye-opener, and may explain a lot about his recent behavior.

Very well said...!

It doesn't matter that I've been saying this for months and months-

***Rove is not what he pretends to be---he's an imposter!!***...

..but I'm sure glad Rove has unveiled himself for everyone else to see
