Newt Gingrich Out-Greens Al Gore? (2008 article, lest we forget)
FOXnews ^ | January 03, 2008

The former House Speaker’s latest book, "A Contract with the Earth" co-authored with Palm Beach Zoo CEO Terry Maple, is an appalling paean to environmental naivete and taxpayer-subsidized profiteering. While the book’s theme — i.e., let’s all just happily pitch in and do what it takes to save the environment — may sound reasonable, at least on a superficial basis, Mr. Gingrich’s notions are often wrong or simply bizarre, and his prescriptions amount to little more than a full embrace of rent-seeking "green" business and left-leaning eco-activist groups, both of which often masquerade as "protectors" of the environment. The book opens with the melodramatic line, "We are personally diminished by the loss of each and every species or habitat that cannot resist extinction." But nowhere does Mr. Gingrich indicate that we’ve been diminished by the ongoing malarial genocide in Africa caused by the senseless 1972 ban on the pesticide DDT — which was promoted by the Environmental Defense, a command-and-control activist group laughably lauded by Mr. Gingrich as an "advocate of market-based solutions to environmental problems."

I’m an unabashed Gingrich fan but everyone has a lapse every now and again. He’s had more than his share but I still see him as the hero of the 1994 Revolution.

And don’t forget. When the Tea Party was in its infancy, he was the major force behind RINO Dede train, using the “electable” card.

Gingrich was Tokyo Rove before Rove.

Gingrich is an internationalist.

Remember he joined with Nancy Pelosi about a year and a half ago. He is smart. He is a covert internationalist. Walking around as a republican because that is his cover.

Sorta like ... if we get him ... it will be Clinton #2; but that is well kept under wraps for now.

This article is correct ... check it out.

Sadly he has Grown into his roll, and I was a Gingrich fan from the beginning. He no longer has the protection of the Constitution on his agenda.

Our country is in a death spiral, as am I, hopefully I will not outlive our Republic.

Gingrich is an odd person...not trustworthy for higher office IMO. Better as a TV commentator.

Gingrich sounds like Ronald Reagan at times. At others he morphs into Gore-speak.

The last few days he's been trying to capitalize on the Tea Party gains.

What Gingrich really is is a political chameleon. I've come to the conclusion that he will say whatever he has to to get power.

Very good Siena Dreaming,
I also find that he has cozied up to the likes of Hillary and Pelosi far too often. That and he has been altered by becoming and insider in the bowels of D.C. and has made a fine living of it.

Yea, Judas had a momentary lapse, too. “Fat Elvis” can go to hell!

Newt Gingrich’s book “Contract with the Earth” is touted by the very same ‘Green’ Muslim, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, who announced back in August that the planned ‘mosque’ near Ground Zero will be a green Islamic cultural center built according to strict LEED standards. Check this article out at AIM earlier this week - http://www.aim.org/aim-column/an-ecofascist-crescent-moon-near-ground-zero/.

I still see him as the hero of the 1994 Revolution.

This is true without question. Make that THE hero. Gingrich's problem, as is true with most revolutionaries, he thought he was capable of leading the post Revolution. He was not.

He had way too much personal baggage, and along the way he became a citizen of the world.

If Gingrich could somehow become a consistent conservative, he could be a very worthy pundit helping the cause. He won't live long enough to lead the party. He's already too old, and will be much older before he can prove he can be trusted to forgo his world citizenship long enough to join the fray in a capacity other than as an analyst. Regardless, he should stick to analyzing.
