Snowe sounds off

4:50 p.m. - Few Republican lawmakers were as stung by Rep. Mike Castle's surprising loss to his conservative GOP opponent as Maine Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe.

In a hallway just off the Senate floor Thursday afternoon, she sounded off about her place as a moderate in the GOP, and voter anger she says she understands.

Visibly sad, Snowe called Castle "an outstanding public servant who was committed to the common good of his state and country."

The longer Snowe talked about the state of the GOP and the Tea Party movement, the more riled up she got.

"Understand, there are a lot of issues that, for example, in the Tea Party that they raise that are legitimate issues. Did we abandon our basic principles of fiscal responsibility? Absolutely. I was arguing those points during the Bush administration," Snowe said emphatically, "I made those very arguments."

as an unfortunate newenglander, i believe the best thing the ol bitch can do for the region is take a long run down any short pier; and hug her snowball sister as she launches.

being a calloused northeaster, i recommend this run after november.

survivors are just a pia

Willing to bet her payoff was for all the DDX class Navy destroyers to be awarded to Bath Iron Works in Maine, instead of building some at Bath and some at NGS in MS.
Bought plain and simple, but not talked about.

I'm angry, because I work here ever day and I want things to be different. I'm here to solve problems to make people happy, not to make them sad and angry,"

There is the problem right there. Congress feels they need to fix every ones life. As they fix one, they screw up two more. Border and national defense. Stay or get the hell out of everything else.

I was just talking about Snowe and her buddy Collins this morning — wishing they were both in jeopardy this year. Those two need to GO!

She’s mad because she knows she’s next. 63% of Maine GOPers said recently in a poll that they wanted someone “more conservative” as their senatorial representation.

I can’t believe she laments that the “moderates” in the Republican party are having troubles. Olympia, was it moderate to vote YES to allow Obamacare to make its way onto the Senate Floor? Was it moderate to vote YES on Obama’s stimulus package? Was it moderate to vote YES on taking over Wall St.?

"Understand, there are a lot of issues that, for example, in the Tea Party that they raise that are legitimate issues.

Has anyone but myself noticed that "Tea Party" is no longer..."Tea Baggers"? What happened msm? Can you hear us now?

As for Snowe, Collins, Castle, Murkowski and the rest of the commies with an "R" next to their name, have they finally figured out the Tea Party is coming for them first? Apparently the light has come on......we clean up the republican party first, then we go for the dems.

The beauty of the Tea Party is that these dim bulb asshats in DC STILL can't figure out what is happening.....LOL!
