The late Sen. Ted Kennedy, champion of the recent health plan legislation, actually delayed comprehensive coverage for Americans for decades, says former President Jimmy Carter. It was Kennedy's actions to kill Carter's own health care bill that made Americans wait more than 30 years for meaningful coverage, says Carter in an interview with "60 Minutes" correspondent Lesley Stahl.

The one thing Ted Kennedy did that we should all be thankful for, is that he effectively killed Carter’s re-election chances.

One bitter old bastard complaining about another one.

Hey, Jimmy . . . with each day that passes, you get closer to the day you can tell this to that bloated slob's face.

Jimmy Carter gave us radical Islamic rule in the Middle East and he’s continuing to do the devil’s work.

There was a talk radio host on an internet or short-wave show last month who was promoting a “special edition” of his show to commemorate August 29th . . . celebrating Ted Kennedy’s one year of sobriety. ROFL.

Is there anything that doesn’t make Carter bitter?

I think we should be more charitable towards Mr. Carter, after all, he made the Reagan presidency possible.

The one thing I’ll always be grateful to Ted for, is his role in derailing Carter’s re-election hopes.

With Obama now having surpassed him on several indicators of presidential unpopularity/incompetence, Jimmy Carter obviously thinks he has a golden opportunity to resurrect his “legacy.”

What’s particularly amusing is this: “I had the best batting average in Congress in recent history of any president, except Lyndon Johnson,” says Carter.

Obama is seeking to make the same claim. Unfortunately, neither recognizes that the bills they passed were deeply unpopular, which is why both were one-term presidents and at the bottom of the barrel in terms of presidential greatness.

Go sit down again, Jimmah...your legacy has already been destroyed.

Sadly, "Worst President in American History" is no longer an honor accorded you.

It instead belongs to the current occupant in the White House.

Surprising that Carter is even able to walk with that 200lb chip on his shoulder.

I propose they share the “Co-worst president in history,”

Gee, just imagine what life would have been like in the late 70s if we had the higher premiums of RATcare imposed on the 20% interest rates.

Jimmy attacks his rival Teddy, now that he’s safely dead.

He probably waited until now, just to be sure that Teddy didn’t re-emerge from his grave. But I guess the stake was secure.

I think they must have hated each other. In my younger days I knew a girl who used to shall we say, know, Ted Kennedy. She once told me that during the 1980 Dem Convention the swimmer’s running commentary consisted of “F Carter, F Carter, F Carter etc. etc. etc.” :)

Q. Why did President Obama feel it was necessary for him to apologize to the world and to degrade the United States?

A. Jimmy Carter had laryngitis.
