Democrats were able to deliver President Barack Obama a significant legislative victory Thursday when the Senate voted to approve a long-stalled $30 billion small business tax package, in what is probably the last real economic stimulus measure before the midterm elections. With the help of Republicans George Voinovich of Ohio and George LeMieux of Florida, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was able to push through the legislation, 61-38 which includes a new Treasury-backed loan facility for small-business owners and major tax breaks for businesses over the next two years.

Yet another reason we need no Mike Castle type Senators. Another completely useless spending boodoggle. Small Business does need more debt so loan guarantees are a complete waste of money that will only go to feed the bureacracy.

Where did the money come for this facility? What a bunch o crap, if you want to cut taxes do so, no more spending, ever, ever!!!!

How many pages was THIS law? How many more regulations are being shackled around the necks of small businessmen? If you borrow money from the feds, tell me they won’t wind up managing your day to day operations.

Hey Karl! The fact that the above quotation appears a lot in media reports these days is why Mike Castle got shellacked by Christine O'Donnell.

With the help of Republicans George Voinovich of Ohio and George LeMieux of Florida Geo Voinovich, not seeking reelection in 2010.
George LeMieux, appointed by Crist in 2009. Not seeking reelection in 2010.
We need to get rid of these RINOs - all of them.

“I couldn't find a reason to be against it, I could only find reasons to be for it,” LeMieux told POLITICO after the vote.
Spoken like a true progressive Pubby. This is why the ruling class is so out of favor.

Want to come over here and try explaining to us again why it is so important to the GOP to have these sort of Mike Castle type political turncoats elected?

   | a significant legislative victory It's been some years since I took BS 101, but as I recall a 'significant' legislative victory ranks far below 'benchmark' legislation, 'sweeping' legislation, and 'historic' legislation.
So this is probably just a Clinton-sized deal, more symbolism than substance. |

    This is a political stunt.
Make the Bush tax cuts permanent, and eliminate corporate income taxes and capital gains taxes.

Another example of why it is critical to have enough conservatives in the senate to prevent a 60 vote override of a filibuster.
