Republican challenger Rocky Raczkowski has the lead over first-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Gary Peters in the 9th congressional district, an independent weekly tracking poll released Wednesday indicates.
The automated poll conducted Sept. 13 of 300 likely voters in the 9th congressional district and 400 likely voters statewide has Raczkowski at 45 percent and Peters at 40.7 percent with 10.3 percent undecided.
The poll was conducted by The Rossman Group in partnership with Team TelCom.
Kelly Rossman, CEO and founder of the Lansing-based Rossman Group, says Raczkowski is benefiting from the sour mood of voters towards Congress.
"It's no secret that Democrats have been gaining ground in Oakland County over the past decade," Rossman said. "But Congressman Peters has some work to do if he wants to make sure the anti-incumbent mood sweeping the country doesn't sweep him out of office after just one term."

We should add Dr. Rob Steele to the list to take out Dingell:

I think Dr. Steele is only like 7 points behind. This is normally unheard of in Dingells district.
Rocky has been out meeting the voters and holding town halls. He’s well liked wherever he goes. Unlike his opponent that held his only town hall on the eve of the primary when most of us were out doing last minute campaigning. Peters changed his stripes when he saw Rocky closes in through his rear view mirror and the voters in this district are on to him. He’ll be pinked slipped for sure in November. His campaign lies of 2008 that he’s trying to rehash will not go well for him this year. He has proven that he can not be trusted with our vote.
EWE! LOL Good one my friend.
He also said he's worried about party backstabbers going after him and said he ticked off some people (he thinks Knollenberg, but doesn't know) back in the day. He didn't know what happened, but he's interested to see what happens.
I sent a $20 a long time ago. It's not much, but it can help, and Rocky is one who can use whatever money he gets.
The Pubbie (such as he is, but this is Michigan) is also way ahead of the Demwit in the governor’s race.
Snyder would do well to publicly distance himself from Joe Schwarz. It might hurt him with some of the democrats who voted for him but he’ll still win by a wide margin.
Darren, every contribution small or large helps and is greatly appreciated. Rocky had a tough primary with Welday. Knollenberg and the Oakland County establishment all endorsed him but Rocky had something that Welday didn’t have, momentum from the people. The primaries are behind us and the establishment has moved fully behind Rocky and his support base is growing even stronger. Every time I see Rocky at a town hall, he’s walking up to people introducing himself and will even give his cell phone number out to the folks if they ever need to get in touch with him. That is something that Peters has never done.
Real Clear Politics has just downgraded Peters once again for the 2nd time in two months... Dem to Lean Dem to toss-up. Nate Silvers at the 538 blog posted in the NYT yesterday that MI-9 has the Democrats losing the seat at 72%.
This isn’t the time to get fat and sassy though. We need to continue this fight like we are 10 points behind. I’m hoping that we will start seeing National focus on this race. If we can take back the district from the Dem’s, this will be a huge blow against their liberal agenda.
There is only a few places where the “one” is still viewed in a favorable light.... Detroit & Granholm’s office. :)
Schwarz could have served as a good early warning about the way RINOs behave when evicted. He’s still conducting his childish vendetta against Walberg. Snyder would be wise to distance himself from Schwarz before he endorses Schauer or something equally asinine.
