The major conservative Japanese daily SANKEI SHIMBUN, with a large circulation, is prominently showing that the Tea Party movement (Cha-no-Kai) or alternately (Cha-Kai-To) is racking up victory after victory in the USA, positioning itself for a turnover of the Obama Administration as a sign of widespread discontent over the President and his policies after merely two short years...

The story in Japanese appearing both in print and online today here in Japan, zeroes in on Christine O'Donnell's big win in Delaware and other races where RINOS have had their >>>> handed to them by the Conservative, Grassroots, Anti-Washington GOP uprising. It then goes to tie the phenomenon into the larger, deepening disillusionment with the Obama Presidency in the United States. Finally the Japanese people are getting some real news, rather unfiltered. Of course, they have had this Obama individual's number for well over a year and have lost considerable respect for him. They, as a savvy people and culture, smell patent weakness and incompetence at 1000 yards.

I like that they published a crowd shot with a large sign of Obozo the Socialist Joker. The damned American MSM refuses to show that image, although is the best and most accurate characterization of this clown.

I should disclaimer here that the photo is actually from an (Japanese) NHK TV documentary on the Tea Party Phenomenon, aired in April, but the left photo is in fact from today's Sankei Shimbun story. The images are getting out, though, and anti-Obama books are being to achieve dominance in Japanese bookstores where books until this point have generally tended to laud "The Messiah".

As everyone knows around the world, with the exception of perhaps the Euros, "the Emperor has no clothes".

Thanks for the report. The Japanese show such a fascinating mix of adaptability to circumstances and cultural tradition. There’s nothing stupid about them at all. Another American ally I’d like to see our next president bother to bond with in repairing the fabric of the world.

Of course it doesn’t hurt the slightest that both Sarah and Christine are what most Japanese men would consider to be “hotties”, ne?

Obama is old hat here in Tokyo.

Washed up.

Kaput.

That's all she wrote.

They are fed up with him, actually. BORRRRRRRRING!!! On the other hand, Palin and O'Donnell would be mobbed for autographs and pics at Narita Airport if here on a speaking tour.

The American MSM is nothing more than a pert of the Democrat Campaign Apparatus. We have two medias. One is conservative and admits it. The other is Liberal and still tries to claim it is neutral.

For the Japanese it’s Been There, Done That. They had their adventure in socialism and want no more of it. Great post!

Thanks for your interp of this. Seems the best analysis of events in the USA is from sources OUTSIDE the USA.

The Fuji-Sankei media group is better than Fox news. They have integrity. About a decade ago, I remember when Beijing told the Japanese media to submit their news to the censors for review or lose their press credentials to stay in China, they were the only ones to pack up and leave.

That being said, I learned to avoid even looking over the shoulder of one of my fellow strap hangers on those commuter trains when they were reading a Sankei sports newspaper.
