Did Chris Matthews Just Get Religion On The Tea Party Movement?

Christine O’Donnell’s stunning primary election continues to turn the world upside. Not only has it brought about some fascinating dissension amongst the notoriously disciplined GOP ranks, but it also seems to have led MSNBC’s Chris Matthews to a rather stunning epiphany about the Tea Party movement. On tonight’s Hardball, Matthews said “I have waited all my life for voters to have the fire to reach up and burn those, but I didn’t know it would come from the right and center.”

Next up: dogs and cats, living together! A full and rough transcript of the Matthew’s comment follows the video (via MSNBC) (H/T Breibart.tv)

Matthews sounds scared and envious about the Tea Party, all at the same time.

At the link, there is a video and a transcript of his comments. I recommend the video because the transcript is very poorly done - very incomplete.

I think what scares the hell out of the ‘RATS is that NOBODY is in charge of the Tea Party. It is probably the first true grassroots effort in America since the Sons of Liberty.

This America Rising video applies to Republicans, too.

The American people have had it with Washington.

The left has to have their movements and thoughts planned from above.

They cannot understand a grass-roots effort.

Even though he comes out and follows orders every night. A little commentary like this just lets me know that he understands the tea party movement and he is scared. I think progressives are going to start looking for the exits soon or outright admitting defeat. He knows its over.

I think some of his comment was directed to Karl Rove...”Mr. Big shot.”

That’s a little of the Chris I used to enjoy watching so much back during Monicagage, when it seemed he had a brain and a conscience.

I imagine he was shocked to see the right burn Karl Rove.

The lefties never allow this. They have to stay on the plantation even if it hurts.

You know the thing is...

Robert F. Kennedy..Harry S Truman.. and other more conservative Democratic figures in history..from before the Democratic party was bought out by MoveOn.Org and Soros. THEY WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED ONE BIT BY THIS ! They loved this country and they knew the American people could control our own destiny ! They knew how great this country was and that it could be even greater. They knew this could and would happen if Government turned against the people.

And before that..

Our founding fathers knew as well.

If this is all too little too late. (I pray on my knees that its not) If this country is really going down. Then we damn well better go down with one heck of a fight. The socialists has always thought that we would rather live on our knees than die on our feat. That we would fall into their arms when the going got tough enough. Guess what ? We are still standing and fighting. That is exactly what happened in Delaware last night !

Wow, I’m stunned that Matthews had a flash of lucidity to see what’s going on...which is more than the DC elitists have had. And even more shocking is he seems to, at some level, approve.

I think Tingles is realizing that the Tea Party brush fire is spreading to the center, to the middle class and “independents.” It’s becoming an uncontrollable forest fire (or Chicago fire, if that’s a better comparison).

“They cannot understand a grass-roots effort.”

Oh c’mon, the Tea Party is all astro-turf financed by the Koch brothers.... Bwwwahahahahahahahahahah!!!!

Matthews’ commentary is interesting, except that he says that our economic system has let people down, whereas we all know that it is the interference by Big Government in our economic system that has let us down. Which is exactly why Big Government is getting its ass kicked. He still doesn’t get it.

C’mon Chris, this energetic Right Wing populism is not anti-business, it is anti-overgovernment.

I think progressives

BwaHaHaHaHA...FRiend, I hope you haven't been brainwashed into thinking they are "progressives"; they are anything but progressive, they are regressive, marxist and completely antithetical to the American way.

I'm sure you mis-spoke!..:=)

DC is beginning to realize they can’t control this.

I expect King George III had a similar epiphany some time in 1776. I’ll be interesting to see how the Rinocratic Party of DC Oligarchs handle this. So far it appears to have a high popcorn quotient.

“I think progressives are going to start looking for the exits soon or outright admitting defeat. He knows its over.”

Kind of like in the Reagan era when libs mostly went into seclusion, or maybe hybernation is a better word.

Yes. I have seen some of their posts at the inception of the Tea Party movement. They were firm in the opinion that some incredibly Machiavellian mastermind was behind the whole effort, as it was impossible for so many people to organize and orchestrate without a “leader”. They truly are like colony insects.
