Eight killed following shootout on highway to Monterrey

http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=512215

At least eight people were reportedly killed in a gun battle that took place on highway between Ciudad Mier and Monterrey.

Action 4 News learned the battle took place near General Treviño, Nuevo Leon earlier today.

Nuevo Leon state prosecutors confirmed that forensic specialists were sent to gather evidence at the crime scene and move eight bodies to the morgue.

The deadly shootout took place down the highway from the scene of a shootout that left 25 gunmen dead in a ranch outside of Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas.

Ciudad Mier is located south of the border from the Starr and Zapata County lines
