WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama's popular support has softened at home, but he still has plenty of fans in Europe, a poll released Wednesday found. More than three-quarters of those polled in 11 European Union countries said they approve of Obama's handling of international policies, compared with just over half of Americans having that view. The annual survey was conducted by the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a nonpartisan policy institution that promotes trans-Atlantic cooperation, and the Compagnia di San Paolo, a research center in Turin, Italy. The poll found that Europeans were not as enthusiastic about some of Obama's specific policies, with just under half approving the U.S. president's handling of Afghanistan and Iran.

Didn’t Tricky Dick do this during his latter days?

Forever coming up with polls showing how foreigners thought he was the Bee’s Knees?

I'm not sure what bothers me more - that people care what Europeans think, or that people think it's a benefit to be liked by Europeans.

If Obama was hated by Europe, loathed by the middle-east, and feared by China, he'd be doing at least some things right. Unfortunately, it's just the opposite - with all of it.

The last place I would look for sound and sane government is Europe.

They sold their souls to the muzzies to keep making that hope and change many years ago.

Maybe it is the muslim infestation that supports Dear Leader.

Europe wants to see the US miserable. It makes them feel superior. So they’d like us to be stuck with Obama for eight years. They just haven’t connected the dots, though. Kill the goose who lays the golden eggs and what does that get you? World wide economic collapse. Not to mention oppressive Muslim theocracies and Nazi’s under every bed.

Oh yes. They can have him and his wookie too since they prefer to spend their time and our money there.

Europe - what happened to you? Do you love socialism, communism and marxism? Didn’t WWII teach you anything? I guess not.

One wonders what the Germans think about Obama's policies. Germany--with its lower corporate income tax rate and plentiful incentives for German companies to keep as much of their production in Germany as possible--may not be as sanguine of Obama as the rest of Europe. This is very important since Germany is easily the most powerful economy in the EU by far.
