The legal panel was manned by a bunch of idiots then.

Paid or not, the man was functioning on behalf of the city. He assaulted the guy with the camera by pushing it back into his face while it was taping.

Do they think city employees should be able to assault members of the public, without legal exposure?

You don’t put a hothead in a position like this. Meter people take a lot of guff. If a person can’t take it, they have no business representing the city in that manner. The city has no business letting that person work for them.

Lets look at it this way. Should the city be able to employ people who assault members of the public at will?

If yes, then I agree there is no case.

If no, then the city must be exposed to litigation so that they won’t.

You let the city off here, and it’s open season on the public. Any public employee has a get out of trouble card, if they want to assault a member of the public.

You are the only one who thinks there was an assault. So far even the people potentially bringing the case have not mentioned it. I sure hope they don’t read FR.
