CONCORD, N.H. New Hampshire has certified former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte (AY'-aht) as the winner of the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
Ayotte was endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and won a narrow victory over Ovide Lamontagne (LAH'-mohn-tayn). His conservative credentials and courting of the tea party pulled him close in the final days of the campaign.
Lamontagne has until 5 p.m. to decide whether he'll seek a recount because the margin of victory fell within 1.5 percent of the total votes cast.
The secretary of state's office says Ayotte's official margin of victory was 1,667 votes.

Six out of seven for Sarah Palin last night. Pretty good.

to be honest the Palin endorsement actually helped LaMontagne up here rather than Ayotte. A LOT of undeclared / independents voted in the R primary for LaMontagne almost as a protest for the Palin endorsement
silly i know but that seems to be the case
personally i voted Ayotte though LaMontagne would have been fine near as i could tell (no one really took him seriously until about 2 weeks ago when he got the Union Leader endorsement).

If Ayotte wins in Nov, then Sarah has an important ally in New Hampshire for 2012

Boo... Ayotte is a died-in-the-wool RINO. Lamontagne was the only even remotely conservative candidate.
Too bad Palin went for "female mama grizzlies" over integrity.

They try to bean her, but she dodges them pretty well. If I were her I’d charge the mound, but she has a cooler head than I do. She wants to stay in the game.

Six out of seven for Sarah Palin last night. Pretty good. And probably why Rove has his panties in such a twist. Who cares about his influence any longer?

New Hampshire had a difficult choice.
Kelly Ayotte and Ovide Lamontagne both deserve to sit in the US Senate.

“Prove me wrong”? What an arrogant jackass. First he undermines her and then challenges her to win anyway.

Ovide may have been a better conservative, but Kelly is still decent and will keep the seat for the GOP. Allows resourcs to be deployed elsewhere, Delaware perhaps.

Perhaps Sarah didn’t want to endorse the anti-gunner in the race?
