Frontier families kept a shotgun above the mantle, always at the ready, to protect their children from wandering predators. Every generation has had hardships and obstacles to overcome. As a parent today, you face issues no other generation before you has had to face.
The predators that threaten your family are evil, unseen and opportunistic. They sneak through your backdoor, as laws that pass with little notice. They lurk in our courtrooms, where your parental rights are whittled away without announcement. They thrive in classrooms, where politically correct ideals are taught, and traditional values and childhood innocence are lost.
Just as our Civil War once raged from fields to front porches, the culture war is now entrenched within our schools, churches and courts-- wounding our national conscience and amputating our morality.
America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within. Get your children out of the tax-fundend, union-run government schools.
Shoot your TV.
Twice.
Prohibit cell phones to the children, or, if you must issue them for safety reasons, issue phones that are capable only of voice communication.
If you allow your children access to the internet, these rules are critical.
1. You create a subnet with a web proxy server.
2. Only websites on the whitelist created by you are available.
3. All email coming into or going out of the house is copied to you.
4. NO social networking sites, no chat rooms, no external mail sites, no google, etc.
5. No computers at anybody else’s house, including relatives.
For most of you, it will just be easier to limit children’s computer access to the times when you can sit down with them.
Speak with your children often. Sing with them, read with them, play with them, work with them.
Watch their friends carefully. Disallow any “friends” that express disrespect for authority.
BE A GOOD EXAMPLE of responsibility, cleanliness, morality, and spirituality.
If I may add one or two... teach your children about right/wrong, good/evil. I don’t care what religion but that there are standards and absolutes in life. Also, teach your children about American History. It isn’t being taught hardly at all in schools and the curriculum is full of anti-American slant/opinions. Many kids don’t know one thing about the Revolution, the Constitution etc... Ignorance will rob our children of a future. Just a thought.
And ditto on the TV. Twice.
Education is teaching a younger generation how to think.
Academics is simply study of information.
Study all the Bible stories, with a focus on how to think in order to have a loving relationship with God.
All humans have the ability to identify and discern good and evil. Show the differences between joy and happiness, faith and discernment, the difference between response and reaction. Always maintain faith in God and what He provides. He’ll handle the rest. He has a plan for each of us and it isn’t always the same plan for each person, but through faith in Him, they all complement one another.
There is a reason for all things.
