Christine ODonnell won a remarkable upset in Tuesdays Delaware GOP Senate primary. But the Tea Party movement and key supporters such as Sarah Palin and Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., may ultimately regret it.
Perhaps not in the short term. Yes, ODonnell faces even longer odds in the general election, and Republicans road to 51 just got a lot harder according to Realclearpolitics.coms Sean Trende says.
But having a Senate majority in 2011 may not be that important by itself. Republicans will likely control the House and Barack Obama will still hold the White House.

What is the difference between Mike Castle and a liberal?
Enough said!
Obamacare can’t be repealed until Obama is repealed.
Still carping on the “Conservative can’t win in the East” mantra I see.
O’Donnell will win in Nov.
All this hand wringing is annoying like a bunch of whiney ninnies. O my god the sky is falling, We can’t win, we can’t win...blah, blah, blah.
We were never going to be able to repeal Obamacare until after 2012 because we’d need a super-majority to override Obama’s veto and that’s not possible given the number of seats up for vote.
The best we can do now is defund it until 2012, hope we win the WH with more conservatives in tow into the House and Senate and then repeal it.
No.
Alas for IBD there are 20 million unemployed or underemployed people ~ a veritable deluge of unemployed people, and supporting them are a host of retirees, and folks just short of retirement, and they are quickly finding the ESTABLISHMENT not only wanting in ideas, but irrationally cold to the great national plight.
I look forward to the day IBD's hard copy press is auctioned for the value of the iron ~ which cannot come soon enough. My prayer is that get to share the cost of the disaster unfolding in this country ~
Ah. This explains why the morning news referred to him as a "moderate".
Did Castle even support the repeal of commiecare?
In Karl Marx Rove’s own words, before this upset, the GOP would have won 8 or nine seats, now it is no more than 7 or 8. Last time I looked, we needed 11 to rest control from the demmo bums, so in answer the headline question...NO.
But, as long as Karl keeps up the BS about the Tea Party and how they despise RINOs, the number of 7 or 8 could actually go down as his words about Tea Party candidates will frame a ton of lefty dummocrate propaganda as they cannot run on the records.
It just means that the country needs to work harder to elect more people that really want to turn this country around and return it to the people.
Obotulism is the disease, impeachment is the cure!
Sounds like a good platform to run on!
Well, for starters, a liberal wouldn't endorse Christine O'Donnell as the GOP Senate candidate from Delaware. (What's that? Castle won't endorse Christine?)
The only thing I really know about her is how much the establishment hates her, and that she is more conservative than Castle.
I am planning to contribute money to her, soon.
If we take back the House, it sounds as though they are going to try and defund it.
All this hand wringing is annoying like a bunch of whiney ninnies. O my god the sky is falling, We cant win, we cant win...blah, blah, blah.
as if it was gonna happen before?
