Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:
“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.
“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.
“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.
“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.
“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.
“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”
If I interpret correctly, you put forth the argument, obliquely, for the formation of a new formal organization, required for ballot access.
The question arises, as it has in the recent past, it is more effecatous for our band of merry activists take over the existing GOP and thereby energize the heretofore successful “leaderless” revolution with structure; or is the best course to start anew and promote the timeless principles in a manner that is obviously extremely (there is that wonderful word again) rocking the very foundations of political industry.
Please forgive me my clumsy question, for I am still aglow with the stunning Delaware victory. Hopefully, you take my question in its sincerity, rather than its form.
I look forward to you thoughts.
Exactly. It’s about principles and integrity and standing up for what you believe in and not backing down because of political or media pressure. Enough of this let’s make a deal nonsense. I’m tired of it!!!
Same here. The attempt to shove amnesty down our throats was my breaking point with them. I sent their fundraiser mailings back with anti-amnesty messages until they gave up and stopped sending them to me.
That is what we are doing.. sending money to selected tea-party supported candidates.
NOT ONE DIME to the party apparatus. Here in NYS the GOP actively sought to keep out a true reformer - Carl Paladino - by making deals with the conservative party - another corrupt org - and guess what? Paladino still won - and big!
A wise thought I read on another blog...

OK, Mr Silver Linings here... but something occurs to me.. This NRSC decision might be a positive.
First off, they deny O’Donnell the money, so the money goes elsewhere. That more money elsewhere is a good thing for elsewhere, so bully for them.
Then in Delaware.... well, O’Donnell is the outsiders outsider. This NRSC decision means she is all in, on being “out”. There is simply no question that she is 100% NON-establishment. That is probably the only real thing that will put her over the top in November, and this NRSC decision has now magnified it. She just needs to get some money from the grass roots, and come on.... it’s Delaware.
I don’t think this is all by plan, I think the NRSC is just running true to form. But I wonder if it could play out to her advantage, even inadvertantly.
You want an outsider, or you want biz as usual? They don’t come more outside than Christine O’Donnell, even the GOP establishment will tell you that...so..... the choice is yours and clear.
Might just work.
When the fate of our nation is at risk, you worry how the press will paint them. Speaks volumes.
Sorry Take (it doesn’t speak volumes), I worry how the stupid electorate will vote....unfortunately the press has a way of making a lot of stupid people vote a certain way.
Please see 2008. I’d rather we didn’t load their gun as it were but O’Donnell is going to make it very easy for them to convince a lot of people to say the Donkeys are better than the GOP by putting some of these whacks in the spotlight. That’s my concern. I hope it’s unfounded.
I’m a pragmatist. In Alaska, a strong conservative state, I applaud Miller winning. In Nevada and Delaware, where a strong conservative with borderline views will lose the general, I don’t see anything positive about it at all.
Super observations. Those calling for another party, another "third" party after the Libertarian, Constitution, Conservative etc. are just calling for our defeat. We are the GOP now and in November we'll claim our office space along with the young Turks and Jim DeMint.
As I said above, I shall not contribute to the RNC but I will contribute to conservative and libertarian Republicans.
The NSRC is finished. Bet on it! By 2012 politics in America will have undergone an incredible metamorphosis. The last nail in the Republican heirarchys coffin will be the announcement of a Tea Party convention to name a candidate for President of the United States.

I believe you are right.
Are you Karl Rove using a pseudonym?
The GOP establishment kinda reminds me of the Scots nobles in the movie Braveheart; generally only after their own interests and not of their constituents.
Exactly, we now have basically two branches of the Ruling Class against the rest of the country.

The Government Party versus the Restoration Party.
Being in favor of limited Constitutional government is now extremism?
Bravo!
You are spot on.
What a freaking joke these gop party hacks are. They are as bad as the rats, party before country and all else.
I've also been pissed off ever since the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
Sadly, Nevada seems to be the only state that offers “None of the Above” on the ballot.
Unfortunately, nobody seems to know what happens if “None of the Above” wins.
