One RINO senator doesn’t matter to me.

Having a Republican Senate Majority leader directing the Senate’s agenda does.

They said the same thing about Massachusetts.

I was the 1st to post here in 12/20/09 that he Brown, had a chance, and that Reid was afraid because he would lose Cloture.

I got my @$$ handed to me here....

Believe she can win, my gut tells me so just like it did with Scott Brown.

Unless Castle runs she is going to take Delaware. Remember 1789 DC, we are coming for you!

Sorry to say it, but we just handed Delaware to the Dems.

And every Republican politician in the country that is tempted to compromise too much will actually remember his or her base voters from now on. It was Castle’s liberal triangulation that lost him this primary.

I'm reminded of this quote from the Bible- "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

Even if Castle won the Senate seat, so what? Conservatives gain nothing.....

Just sent Hugh another tweak - he has been wrong with his prognostication more than he has been right. As Rush stated on his program this morning,

Rush Limbaugh today stated on his radio show that Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE) voted in favor of House Resolution 1258 on June 11, 2008.
What was "On Motion to Refer: H RES 1258 The Kucinich Privilege Resolution"?
Answer: "Impeaching George W. Bush, President of the United States, of high crimes and misdemeanors" 24 Republicans voted with the Democrat majority and that did include Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE).

If the RINO were to win what would there be to vote for?
The only difference between a RINO and a dem is the letter next to their name. (R)

Of course we all know that Chris Christie crashed and burned in NJ for the same reason ODonnell will...blue staters just won't elect a conservative will they.../s

Haha - great point. They told us in 2004 that Pat Toomey was unelectable in PA - too conservative in a blue state. The same Toomey leading every poll against the Sleestak by 6-10 points currently.

No, instead, they said we needed to support someone "with us when it counts."

This race will have significant implications for how the Republicans behave in office. They can no longer be stealth enemies of conservatism.

Well stated. O'Donnell isn't exactly my poster child for what I'm looking for in a candidate, but there is a broader point here. There is a tremendous amount of anger right now - that cuts across party lines, I believe - from people who work in the private sector, pay their taxes, play by the rules, and are mad as hell about the out of control Federal spending and the Obama theme of "personal responsibility is for losers, no financial problem is your fault, and I'm from the government and we're here to help". We aren't looking to elect RINOs who will cut Obama's spending increases from 15% to 10% and declare victory. I'm looking for the next Ronald Reagans. If that makes me some sort of "right-wing" nut, so be it.

This race will have significant implications for how the Republicans behave in office. They can no longer be stealth enemies of conservatism. They either have to start acting like conservatives, or go into open warfare with the electorate.

Amen !!!

I posted this on the other thread on this:
“8. Count them. 8 candidates supported by the Republican Senatorial Committe have lost their primaries. My source: Rachel Maddow. Chrissie Matthews is worried she can win. Paraphrased, “I’ve heard all my life that the Republicans have done such a stupid thing, nominating Orrin Hatch in Utah, or Ronald Reagan, and they carry that momentum right into the fall. Look at this crowd (at O’Donnell’s headquarters), you won’t see that kind of energy in any Democratic party tonight.” etc. etc.”

Who am I to argue with tingle in his legs Chrissie?

If he was more likely to win against the Dem in Delaware, the more likely we have Republican Senate Majority leader directing policy/agenda.

But what good is setting the "policy/agenda" as you put it, if you can't count on your own majority to vote for it?

Frist tried setting the "policy/agenda" to force votes on Bush's judicial candidates only to be sold out by the McCain/Graham RINOs.

How many times do you need to see that happen? I'd rather have a rock-solid 41 conservative votes and NOT be in the majority, than have 51 "Republicans" with 5-6 of them looking to "reach across the aisle" any chance they get so the press will write nice things about them.

Screw the RINOs - I've been sold out enough!

“I believe RINOs are worse than dems. Traitors won’t help us defeat liberalism.”

You are very right. Just remember Crist, Spector, “Jumpin’” Jim Jeffords, and the “Republican” candidate in the 2009 NY-23 race who threw her support to Democrat Bill Owens. Win or lose this fall for Christie, I’m glad this dinosaur Castle is gone. A RINO is no better than a Democrat.

The POS Karl Rove now on Fox trashing Christine O’Donnel for all he is worth. He is upset and mad that she won. Can’t stand that he and other Beltway Republicans are being rejected. And he is really arguing that she can’t overcome her negatives.

If Dems keep their Senate majority then Reid (if he wins) or Schumer become the face of their leadership in Congress, assuming Pelosi is no longer speaker. This could be a good thing as neither of those guys is at all telegenic and both are rather obnoxious. Also 0bama won’t be able to blame all his woes on the congressional GOP majority if he still has one house with his party in control.
