“Bill Buckley is rolling in his grave.”

Bill said to vote for the “most conservative candidate that had the best chance to Win in the General”.

Great advice, but I’m not sure if Castle qualified as a conservative.

Do you understand that we need ten (10)seats to be the majority in the Senate?

Winning Biden’s old seat in Del. would be the icing on the cake, since there are actually more than 10 Senate seats we will probably win anyway.

Rush today said that Christine's 35% total in 2008 was nearly identical to McCain's 2008 total.

Being McCain was a RINO, shouldn't he have won in DE?

This is the biggest news since the Patriots in New York tore down the statue of King George III. Christine has torn down the King Castle statue. But will DE listen?

I suspect even if Castle had won tonight, and took Biden’s old seat, that Republicans would have fallen short in their effort to get a majority. If Boxer, Reid, and Murray all win then it is almost impossible to dislodge the Dems. Having Castle in there siding with the ones from Maine and the few remaining other “moderates” would have given them yet more leverage.

If they get 45-48 seats now then it will be necessary to work that much harder to take back a majority in ‘12. I think they should go full force against Webb, Tester, McCaskill, both Nelsons and more.

I’m hoping she does. I think it’s less likely.

We NEED a republican senate majority leader MORE than we need to stick it to the Delaware Republican Establishment.

Sorry to say it, but we just handed Delaware to the Dems.

Please step out of my foxhole!

So what? It was already a Democrat seat. Just wasn’t called one.

This one will scare the GOP establishment but this actually scares the Democrats more. The big secret since the 80's has been if you put conservatives in for the nomination Republicans win in general elections.

Voting should be more than self indulgence. We’ve got to stop this president’s agenda. Gingrich didn’t do the good work he did in congress with out electable republicans from democtra leaning states.

we will see.

And even if we don't retake it, I would rather be in the minority with real conservatives representing us, than be in the majority with liberals with R's after their name screwing things up and giving Republicans a bad name.

Sacrificing principles just to win general elections accomplishes nothing. It's penny-wise and pound foolish. And sets you up to take the blame when policies that can't possibly work because they are based on compromise instead of correctness cause hardship.

Better to have full-on socialism that fails instead of mongrel policies that let the other side blame so-called "capitalism" for the failures of socialism/statism.

Let’s assume for a moment that Castle had won, and his win helped us eke out a 51-49 majority in the Senate. As liberal as he is, does anyone have any doubt that he would be a Jim Jeffords-redux? He’d have enormous power, because there would always be a card up his sleeve called “party-switcher”. Republicans would have to play by his rules to accomplish anything at all. He’d use that power to dilute any true conservative legislation, so he’d effectively be a Democrat agent in plain sight.

I’d rather have no power than that kind of “power” any day.

The Beltway GOP wailing and gnashing of teeth begins in 3...2...1...

Right here they already started without you. We have a bunch of little beltway rino soothsayers who think they can read the minds of the general electorate--not that there is any precedent for a true conservative alternative on the statewide ballot to go on.

Of course we all know that Chris Christie crashed and burned in NJ for the same reason ODonnell will...blue staters just won't elect a conservative will they.../s
