“Bill Buckley is rolling in his grave.”

Bill said to vote for the “most conservative candidate that had the best chance to Win in the General”.

Great advice, but I’m not sure if Castle qualified as a conservative.

Yea, and that was before the Tea Party. RINO’s or Dem-Lite got us to this point. Republicans fell asleep and allowed the Dems to basically over the GOP. We now demand Conservatism. We no longer just ask nicely for it.

That's the rub here. I had the short course on Castle in the last few days. Supports cap and trade? Threatened impeachment of Bush? It's intolerable.

I understand the "weak can be made to follow" argument, but it seems Castle is so far off the reservation he's gone enemy camp.

Will O'Donnell be reliable?

I'm a big fan of the "Buckley Rule." But in this era of modern contrived polls manipulated by a liberal media, it is absolutely NOT clear "who has a good chance to win" in a general election. They said the same thing about Brown; and in the primaries, they said the same thing about Miller and about O'Donnell.

The one blemish on this was McCain's victory, but Hayworth had the misfortune of having just enough of the "old Washington politician" corruption on him that it made him look little different than McCain.

And don't forget Buckley himself was crushed in the NYC mayoral race.
