The outage was due to "technical problems," said Chase spokesman Tom Kelly, who added that the problem was "not related to hackers or fraud."
Kelly said the company was "working to fix the problem as soon as possible."
"Rather then give a prediction about when it will be fixed, we're just going to tell people when it goes back up," Kelly said about 6:00pm ET. "But we are talking hours not days."

I want Washington Mutual back, Chase sucks!!!!
I have one Chase CC (Mastercard) & my mortgage is serviced by them (no checking/savings accts.), and I have online access and payments. You might want to try again.
The FDIC “Transaction Account Guarantee”(TAG) program is different than the regular FDIC account insurance program. All “regular” Chase accounts are FDIC insured to $250,000..

We are sorry for the difficulties that recently affected Chase.com, and we apologize for not communicating better with you during this issue. Giving you 24-hour access to your banking is of the utmost importance to us. This was not the level of service we know you expect, and we will work hard to serve you better in the future and to communicate with you better if a situation like this should arise again.
