Continuing his makeover from Republican to independent U.S. Senate candidate, Gov. Charlie Crist on Monday affirmed his support for civil unions, adoption by same-sex couples, and doing away with the military's ban on openly gay soldiers.

Crist has been increasingly tilting leftward as he seeks to siphon Democratic votes from Meek and pitch himself as the only true foil to the conservative Rubio.
In the first formal position paper released by the campaign, Crist laid out his position on nine issues relating to gay rights, including his support for a federal ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation and for allowing gay citizens to sponsor their partners for legal immigrant status.

For example, Crist is now adopting all of Mitt Romney's old positions.
Crist needs to go on a retreat to meditate and find out who he is, and then stick to it.
Shouldn't Crist's spin be that he is the "voice of reason" between a fiscally irresponsible Democrat and a "too conservative for Floridians" Republican?
Could FL still be as blue as Crist's actions imply?
Charlie should move to Virginia where an advertising campaign is starting to lure more homosexuals there.

Crist is counting on a group of his stalwart supporters from days gone by, and new support from the liberal crowd. He is the self-proclaimed populist, saying whatever will haul in the most votes.
Crist is the only principal Charlie stands for.

At least Meek has been a stand up candidate, especially for a liberal. He is definitely the better opponent for Rubio. Best election outcome—Crist a distant third.
