Well, they’ll have 99 weeks of unemployment to tide them over................

That is dependent on extensions by Congress, and most of those affected will not like living on unemployment. They do not have beer tastes and prefer to eat cake.

Actually if the GOP gain controlRepublicans would be smart to resist hiring any existing staffers and bring in a whole new staff.

One of the things the GOP discovered after 1994 is the hold overs among committee staffers tend to be as much of the problem as the Congresspeople fired in the election.

If the GOP is serious about reform, they will need to clean house top to bottom, not just take over their new offices.

Aw, how sad. Well, it’s back to overturning and burning cars at WTO conferences.

Makes sense to me. But if there are good experienced staff in place they should not be blindly thrown out. Learn curve on a new job is steep and we need action as soon as possible.

Plenty of openings in the household and custodial industries...

for which they are marginally qualified.

No worries. The Republicans will need 1,500 new staffers and many will be filled by these guys.

And the circle will be unbroken.

Normally I don’t like to see anyone lose their job.

But if those Democrats lose their jobs, I’ll enjoy it.

Considering the job the last decade of Congress has done, whole scale firings could end up improving the system.

Drudge headline article on this is idiotic! If the republicans win, there will be more layoffs! The article doesn’t mention the people are on the public dole, or that the pubs will hire many of them or new ones.
