Murray Ahead in Washington A new Elway Poll in Washington finds Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) leading challenger Dino Rossi (R), 50% to 41%. Said pollster Stuart Elway: "Although Murray is at 50% in this survey, there are enough 'soft' supporters for each candidate, plus undecided voters and supporters of other candidates -- not to mention time on the calendar -- to determine the eventual outcome." However, even if Rossi takes three-quarters of the undecideds in this poll, Murray would still lead 52% to 48%.

I would have to assume that it`s a poll taken by John Elway.

I am a big Elway fan, but what does he know about polling???

Rasmussen Reports

Election 2010: Washington Senate

Washington Senate: Rossi (R) 48% Murray (D) 46%

Thursday, September 02, 2010

In Washington State, the U.S. Senate race remains one of the closest in the country.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state shows Republican challenger Dino Rossi attracting 48% of the vote while Democratic Senator Patty Murray earns support from 46%. Three percent (3%) prefer a different candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided.

Earlier this month, Murray had a slight edge. However, the race has been very close all along.

In ten surveys conducted since January, the candidates have been within two points of each other seven times. Rossi has twice held a three-point advantage and Murray once had a four-point edge.

Since May, Rossi has attracted support from either 47% or 48% of the vote in five out of six surveys. During that same time frame, Murray have been between 47% and 49% of the vote in five of six surveys.

With these new results, the race moves from Leans Democratic to Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power summary.

I wish people would stop voting just for good looks.

If they did Murray wouldn't have a chance!

Seattle Times propaganda.

I cancelled my subscription years ago, and whenever they call me I just tell them I don’t support newspapers that endorse America hating Liberals.

I haven’t seen ~any~ Rossi TV commercials yet. Maybe there have been some, but Murray’s commercials are everywhere.

And... Murray’s commercials are dumb. Easy to rip apart.

I hope Dino goes on the offensive soon. Though, I understand that timing is everything. Gotta peak at the right time, and not too early.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS?

Elway is, at least in this cycle, criminally insane.

REAL Pollsters:

Rasmussen Rossi up 3
Survey USA Rossi up 7

Elway fancies themselves a high-tech polling firm. Their main clients normally are medical-insurance-health groups and governmental and quasi-governmental organizations. They special in electronic town halls, focus groups, audience-response dials. I guess they figure once in a while they can gain some free publicity by releasing a political poll, but its not their expertise... at all!

Bogus poll.. Real Clear has this with Rossi up. I think Raz has him up 2-3 and there was a Surv USA with Rossi up 8.

Seattle Times doing poll searching until they find one that suits them. And if you read on in this story Rossi is ahead among independents which will be the deciding factor in November.

And the results are quite a bit different from a KING 5 poll by Survey USA last month, which had Rossi ahead 52-45.
