...In Orange County, two churches also are planning events.
Irvine mega-church Marines will conduct an all-day "Bridges" seminar. Organizers said the events is designed to replace fear and misunderstanding of Muslims.
"Our goal at Mariners is to provide a contrast to the growing polarity and conflicts and tear down some of the walls of misunderstanding that lead to fear between communities," Sophia Marsh, a Laguna Beach resident and three-year member of the Christian church, told the OC Register.
Irvine United Congregational Church will conduct a "Quran blessing."

Isn’t that the home of Adam GodDam, the “Americna Taliban?”
Why dont they just convert to Islam?
Another reason Southern California has one of the lowest weekly church attendences in the country?
Americna Taliban?
American Taliban?
Bless a book that denies the death and resurrection of Christ? Really, are they sure they know WHAT they believe?
Dare I ask if this constitutes heresy?
I wouldn’t bless the Quran, nor burn it. This is silly. They have proved that they don’t critically think, because Jesus wouldn’t be blessing it. The Muslims would never bless the Bible.
This ‘church’ really needs to speak with the Egyptian Coptic Christians and Iranian Jews that now live in Southern California. Ask them if this is a misunderstanding.
Close.
Ghaddan is from Garden Grove, just up the way.
Irvine is the financial center of Orange County and the location of Orange County’s John Wayne Airport. It is a lily-white conservative area, so I’m not surprised that they think blessing Koran’s is cool.
Laguna Beach is the artsy section of OC. Lots of gays and commies there. Muslim delight.
Suppose it depends on what they think “bless” means. If it’s #1 I’d say yes.

Here is a well produced video of 3 Basic Things one you should know about Islam and Shari’a Law;

Its only 8 minutes or so and very worth it.
If you have others who would be interested, this should be sent to them.
Would you please cite some references to back up this claim? Not to say that I support what these churches are doing but I do know that one of the largest mosques west of the Mississippi is located there in Garden Grove. Some of the best bridge events I’ve attended were there with some brilliant Christian scholars taking on some of their leaders (Saddiqi was one of them).
Those so-called Churches have no clue what they are blessing and who the mock blessing would be coming from.
have no clue what they are blessing
Which as Christians I suppose we should.
Why don’t they also bless Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals (a text dedicated to Lucifer), Dianetics (the Scientologists’ religious text), and those books of other non-Judeo-Christian faiths?
The Koran holds as much water as do the Mormon texts, Jehovah’s Witness texts, and other splinter faiths from Christianity.
In Saudi Arabia, the theocratic government confiscates bibles (they are illegal) and burns them.
The US State Department has no comment on this practice and you won't find any statement from these interfaith worshipping "Christians".
