GOP’s Campbell swings for the fences against incumbent Doggett in CD 25 (Socialist Doggett!)

The 2010 mid-terms may be dominated by antipathy toward incumbents, and political upstarts may be knocking off long-time party favorites from Florida to Alaska, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t extremely difficult to mount a challenge to a well-established incumbent. That’s what Dr. Donna Campbell is discovering as she takes on U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett in Congressional District 25.

“It is daunting,” Campbell said. “I’m coming up against somebody that, he’s an entrenched incumbent, and it’s not an easy task.”

As an eight-term congressman who preceded his time in the House with stints in the Texas Senate and the Texas Supreme Court, Doggett is a familiar feature of the political landscape in CD 25, which includes Hays, Caldwell, Fayette, Gonzales, Lavaca and Colorado Counties, plus most of Bastrop County and a chunk of Travis County, including part of Austin.

In the years where Republicans have fielded a candidate against him, Doggett has been reelected with about two-thirds of the vote in CD 25.

Campbell, on the other hand, is an unknown entity, an emergency room doctor who has never held political office. She said she was pulling up yard signs with the chairwoman of her county’s Republican Party after the 2008 elections when she decided to run for Congress.

“I felt an overwhelming call, or sense of duty,” Campbell said. “I said, ‘What can I do to help?’ She said I could run for Lloyd Dogget’s seat. And I said, ‘Yes I can.’”

Help Dr. Campbell defeat eight term incumbent Socialist-Democrat Lloyd Doggett from Texas Congressional District 25 (Doggshit is one of the worst!) - voters told Doggett to "just say NO" to ObamaCare...Lloyd gave an emphatic YES.

All Lloyd Dogget has to do is please the the ‘anti-war hippies’ along with the ‘pro-choice/big government ‘ crowd in progressive Austin and he’ll get at least 50% of the vote.

The lefties in his district rival Berkeley in their dedication to the leftist doctrine.

I see it everyday.

Doggett votes to Destroy American Jobs - So the House voted 219-212 for Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill, with 8 quisling Republicans joining 213 Democrats. The roll call shows Rep Doggett and Rep Gene Green voted aye to destroy American jobs, while Rep Ciro Rodriguez and Rep Chet Edwards, feeling heat from his district no doubt, voted no.

Rep. DogSh!t, is my rep here in Austin and we can’t stand this guy. He voted for BarryCare when we told him not to, the guy is about as anti-gun as you get and is an enviro-nut. I hate it because whenever some major issue comes up in the national congress, I can’t ‘call my representative’ because the ass is the complete 180 of all my positions. I would love for Dr. Campbell to get rid of him, but I honestly don’t hold out much hope. Austin is just stuffed with way to many uber-liberals

I've met this woman, and was really impressed with her. I think she's the real deal!

Lloyd Dogshite is the worst of the worst. The trouble is that the goonies, especially those in Austin, continue to back him and vote for him.

I'm sending another donation to Dr. Campbell today. I hope others will join me,

Doggett’s district was carefully gerrymandered to put all of the Democrats in Austin through South Texas in a single district. Consequently, it is one of the safest Democrat seats in Congress.

For Doggett to lose, every Republican and independent in the district will have to show up and vote against him and most of the cool-aid drinking Democrats in the district will have to stay home.
