NEW YORK – The imam leading the effort to build an Islamic center and mosque near the World Trade Center site said Monday that a resolution to the raging debate over its location is being examined.
"We are exploring all options as we speak right now, and we are working to what will be a solution, God willing, that will resolve this crisis, defuse it and not create any unforeseen or untoward circumstances that we do not want to see happen," Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said during a question-and-answer session following a speech before the Council on Foreign Relations.
He did not elaborate on whether the options included moving the center from a site two blocks from ground zero.
But in response to a later question, Rauf said the proposed location, while controversial, was important.
"We need a platform where the voice of moderate Muslims can be amplified. ... This is an opportunity that we must capitalize on so the voice of moderate Muslims will have a megaphone," he said.
The imam said he wanted to clarify a "misperception" that the Islamic center's proposed site was sacred ground.

Are Radical Muslims too stupid to know the are insulting their hosts? Or is their ignorance of American sensitivities an act? Any building on that site - by Muslims - at this time - is a slap in the face.
There are other places. There are thousands of Mosques in the United States. We have been gracious hosts. There are NO Christian Churches in Saudi Arabia... think ABOUT THAT for a minute.
Young innocent Muslim children will pay the price in rejection caused by their stupid, insensitive elders. Shame on radical Muslim adults. Shame on them for hurting their own children. My suggestion is for the quiet good people who just happen to be Muslim - to start exerting pressure on the jerks who make the big calls. This 'mosque issue' should NEVER have happened.
In a thousand years I can not imagine an American religion calling for an insulting memorial to the Enola Gay being put in Hiroshima or Nagasaki. It's just creepy and rude. Do Muslims lack manners?

They will still be able to talk just as loud from a few blocks down. Them being right smack dab on that location is just cashing in on the publicity from the terror attack caused by Islamic terror.
There is no way they can make this mosque come across as appropriate.

It sure is. If Americans still refuse Sharia after it's built, they can turn it into a mushroom cloud.
All they have to lose is a building, and NYC has the largest number of Jews after Tel Aviv. I'm sure they'd have no problem sacrificing it in the name of Allah the moon gawd, and killing all those Jews in one, big explosion.

Bottom line is this phony holy man doesn’t have the money to build his mosk. I think he’s trying to get someone to buy him out and he makes millions in profit.
This concept concerns me most because if it’s true than no one can ever believe what any muslim says about anything
The “resolution” will be:
- he builds the mosque and gets everything he wants
- everyone else gets nothing
Will they be planning on doing the call to prayer six times a day?
Nothing in that article says he will move. Sounds more like he expects a capitulation.

Who made them so special?
They had a muslim day at six flags they have all the mosques they need (which a lot of mosques before Obama were raided for terrorists fronts) what more do they want?
They HAVE tolerence and respect if they don't strap bombs to their chests; it is painstakingly obvious they want dominance.

Those “quiet good people” you speak of believe in the koran as much as the “radical” muslims. There ARE no innocent muslims here. We are pigs to them all and we all deserve to be dead. That is what the “quiet good people” believe.
The Donald was turned down. The Imam is up to something and so is Obama. Follow the money <——they don’t want us to but Obama will protect them.
