O'Donnell Surges to Lead Over Castle in New Poll
RCP ^ | 9/13/10 | Scott Conroy

Posted on 09/13/2010 7:59:52 AM PDT by pissant

Conservative activist Christine O'Donnell holds a 47 percent to 44 percent lead over establishment favorite Rep. Mike Castle in Tuesday's Delaware GOP Senate primary, according to a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey released on Sunday.

O'Donnell's lead among 668 likely Delaware Republican primary voters was within the poll's margin of error, but if she were able to defeat Castle on Tuesday, it would mark another extraordinary upset for a tea party-backed candidate in a GOP Senate primary.

On Thursday, O'Donnell picked up former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's endorsement, and Palin has recorded a robocall on O'Donnell's behalf. The new PPP poll was conducted after Palin endorsed O'Donnell.

Palin's last-minute push on behalf of Fairbanks attorney Joe Miller proved critical in Miller's shocking victory over incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in last month's Republican primary in Alaska.

Yeah...we will have a Conservative nominee that will be there for 6 weeks then lose. Castle sucks and can win. She is comes off annoying on TV and her radio interview sucked. Choice is between bad and worse. I am choosing just bad.

After seeing anti-Rino candidates win, my favorite sight is to see Rinos having a cow their the anti-Rino candidate is chosen by the electorate.

DE and NH are both moving towards the conservatives!!

Who would the "conservative" in NH be? Ovide Lamontagne, a Mitt Romney Team Leader in 2007. A gun control advocate, who received an F from NH Firearms Coalition. A so-called "compassionate conservative." Yeah. Real conservative.

I'll take my chances with the so-called non-conservative, backed by every Pro Life group, the NH Firearms Coalition, and Sarah Palin.

I want the RINOs cleared out if for no other reason I won’t have to read on FR about the spineless Republicans and the RINOS over and over and over.

"I am choosing just bad."

Okay, let's grant your judgment of O'Donnell for the moment, in order to ask this question:

Is electing a bad Castle to be preferred to sending a clear message that RINOs will NOT get elected any longer??

By your estimation, everyone's pretty bad -- the Dem, Castle, and O'Donnell. Again, let's grant your assumption. In such a case, O'Donnell's winning the primary would carry benefits that extend considerably further than the outcome of the primary or general elections.

nice-just read the Weekly Standard article and I don’t care. Fact is castle could have ran and lost 2-3 times in the last 6-8 years and call it a career. But no-he kept his steady job and expects the next one to be handed to him. He is of no use to us. McCain was known to use the f-word toward gop collegues who disagreed with him. I’d wish he’d say that to castle but I can’t imagine him doing that.

Exactly.

The Romney-RonPaul Wing of the GOP supports Ovide Lamontagne.

Christine O’Donnell is the way to go.

We don’t need slow socialists like Castle in the Senate.

Christine O’Donnell is the real deal in this race and I’m not worrying about anything negative.

And that inlcudes her past which is being dug up deliberately to suppress conservative turnout for her tomorrow.

Big picture - Castle is an enemy within the camp. Eliminate all RINOs as possible, sending a message to incumbent RINOs to shape up or they get theirs when they are up for re-election. The GOP needs an enema to cleanse its’ systems of fecal matter like Castle, Murkowski, the Twit Sisters and Graham.

It’s necessary and comes at a very high cost. But, America, now more than ever, needs a clear choice from the right - not an echo.
