Ground has been broken. A few surrounding buildings and a little placeholder replica of the Freedom Tower have been erected. Ceremonial beams of light have been displayed where the Twin Towers once loomed.
But as the Bergen (NJ) Record put it: We are supposed to be pleased that One World Trade Center is rising, that work on that national Sept. 11 memorial is well under way, as is the transportation hub and one of three additional commercial towers. And we are pleased that these projects are moving along. But it has been nine years. Nine years and nothing is completed.
Let me repeat that: Nine years and nothing is completed.

I imagine “americans” were holding off to wait and see where the muzzies wanted to display their 14 story Victory Trophy on Ground Zero. We didn’t want to make the “moderate” muzzies mad don’t ya know.
Personally I’m sick of the focus on the memorial. I would rather the focus be on knocking out Islam. Secure our borders, and make this a safe, and moral country to live in again.
Love Michelle Malkin, but I want to see action curing the problem, not memorializing it.
The towers should have been rebuilt BUT using the lessons from the past, they would serve as the memorial.
This “thing” they are building is nothing but a trophy to the Muslims of the world and should be called Islam tower!
There is a memorial.
It is the anti American memorial signified by the absence of commemoration. It is a postmodern insult to middle America. It is a subtextual middle finger to American exceptionalists. Malkin is right and 911 is the heart of the problem. The beginning and the end of an international civil war between good and evil. Moore soros code pink the huffington ward churchill post Ron Paul are joined with al Qaeda hezbollah and so many other anti Americans.

This country has a gubbermint fit only for swine.
Folks, this is all about unions and ‘’not killing the job’’. As a former union laborer who worked in NYC in the ‘70s and ‘80s I can tell you this is a gravy train. It’s almost entirely government(taxpayers) money at work here so there is no incentive to get the job done on time. It’s standard union mentality at work here:”Don’t kill the job’’. Figure it out.
Next to no progress on rebuilding, the entire air-traveling population stands in line with their shoes in their hand hours before departure; no wonder they want to build a victory mosque near ground zero. How stupid are we?
2000: Twin Towers
In 9 years we cannot defeat the Taliban and we cannot find Bin Laden. We cannot even build a relatively simple memorial.
What happened to America between 1941 and 2000?
We lost thousands of lives at Pearl Harbor; four or so years later it was over.
Nine years after 9/11 practically nothing has happened to change the world for the better. And, nobody seems to care. They just want to forget about it. Bloomberg, Obama, and Hillary want to build a mosque on ground zero. It is a different world today.
correction: 2001, of course
“What happened to America between 1941 and 2000?”
Liberalism.
You Rock!
Might as well have Mohamad Atta’s headstone there
A few years ago I attended a conference at a univerity in rural MN. A hail storm swept in and pretty much trashed all the cars in the parking lot (baseball-sized hail, lots of damage, lots of broken glass).
Within an hour, crews were onsite replacing glass and removing disabled cars. I talked to a local auto crew who restored my car to drivable condition with one phone call to my insurance company. Within 24 hours, all the damaged cars were removed from the parking lot and in shops being repaired.
It was a remarkable display of the free market, businesses performing in harmony, taking advantage of the opportunity created by natural destruction. Had it occurred in Mexico, I believe the cars would still be there.
This is what America’s reaction to 9/11 should have been. A vibrant free market would rebuild immediately, bigger and better than ever.
Govt and unions are in the way of a productive free market society. We need to fix that.
“Might as well have Mohamad Attas headstone there”
and a statue of Osama Bin Laden.
I say let us put a super big McDonalds right at the spot.
Or a Ford plant and huge showroom.
Something very American, and something that screams to all the USA haters, that our country still loves commercialism.
It should be a symbol to all that we love making things that make a profit.
And all the attacks or threats of attack will not change us.
I forgot to add at the end of my post:
The muzzies can shove it.
Good post, thank you. If you ever want to see socialism in action, join a union. Despite their propaganda the sole function of a union is simply to exist. Unions never have ,never can or never will create a single job, not one.
