Poll predictions: Tuesday forecast calls for reign
By Howie Carr | Sunday, September 12, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists
The polls open in less than 48 hours, and it is time for Carrnac the Magnificent, Prognosticator Extraordinaire, to make his primary-election predictions.
The first answer is . . . Jeff Perry.
Yes, Joe Malone has run a tough campaign, but I dont think the Fox 25 morning audience is quite large enough to overcome Perrys Cape legions. And lets face it, the Globe endorsement in a Republican primary is the kiss of death.
I know it gave me a rash, Malone said the night the bowtied bumkissers put him on the spot.
On the Democratic side, two fine specimens are squaring off. Its triple-dipper Sen. Bob OLeary versus Norfolk D.A. Bill Keating, who if he wins will sooner or later be a double-dipper - a $120,000 state kiss in the mail plus the congressional salary of $174,000.
Carrnac says bet on the double-dipper. Theres a conservative tide running.
For treasurer: an upset. City Councilor Steve Murphy takes out Mr. Charisma, Steve Grossman, whose ads brag that hes a great guy because he didnt fire one of his workers who got sick. Grossmans spots also feature lots of black-and-white still photos - the first time I saw Grossmans spot I thought it was an ad for another Ken Burns special on the Civil War.
And the next answer is . . . Guy Glodis and Mary Connaughton.
The question is, who will win the nominations for auditor. Democrat Glodis prevails because hes a hacks hack running against two moonbats, Suzanne Bump and Mike Lake.
And the Globes after me, he pointed out. What more do you need to know?
Good point. The enemy of my enemy . . . By the way, Glodis has the best mailer of the campaign, in which he promises to Reign (sic) in Wasteful Spending. Its probably unnecessary to tell you that the High Sheriff is a graduate of ZooMass-Amherst. Anyway, Guy, weve read your campaign finance reports. Youve been reigning in wasteful spending for decades now.
Runner-up for best mailer goes to Rep. Joe Driscoll, running for D.A. of Norfolk County, who never once mentions his years as a solon.
Next answer: Mary-Ellen Manning.
The question is, who will win the Democratic primary for governors councilor on the North Shore? At least I hope she wins. Just this summer, Manning single-handedly torpedoed two of Deval Patricks judicial nominees. Thats real public service, and boy, does the hack legal-judicial establishment want her gone. And they have a lot more money and clout than the people who actually benefit from having a watchdog to prevent the worst of these bust-out lawyers from getting lifetime tenure in the corrupt Massachusetts judiciary.
Carrnac says do yourself and the rest of us a favor and vote for Manning.

I’ll go out on a limb at this early hour on Sunday morning.
Howie is wrong about Joe Malone.
My only experience with MA politics is via listening to Howie’s podcasts.
Jeff Perry increasing came across as skeevier and skeevier.
Is Howie’s show spreading to SC? (It has been on select stations outside New Eng before). Someone on a radio-interest mailing list noted a billboard down in SC, “Howie Carr, coming soon to WORD (Spartanburg).” The station is owned by Entercom.
No sign yet on station’s website.

Sweet!
Howie needs to go viral. The bow-tied bumkissers and coat holders are everywhere. Only Green pantsers seem to be peculiar to Boston.
The Baker campaign has happy anniversary wishes for Deval Patrick and his running mate Tim Mur—er, Tim Cahill! Since Cahill may take votes away from Baker and put Deval back in.
Deval and Timmy were good friends in ‘06 and they seem
to be very good friends even today. And, why, Timmy has told Howie that he hates the Democrat party SO much that he’ll
take a...Democrat...ballot today. Hey, important races! He has hack—er, friends—he’d love to help out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e88JNRTfHOI&feature=player_embedded#!
Howaya Timmy! How's the family? Did you go to the tiiiiiiiiiiiime for our favorite hack? Oh shoo-ah. Yeah Timmy we'll welcome ya back to the Democrat party after the election, once you tip it to Deval. Hey when Deval gives you a nice post think o' me, huh? Make me an assistant junior deputy press agent or sumpin'!
Wed column ping. It’s the day after the night before, as Jerry Williams would say.
Primary victories reveal Moonbat divide
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, September 15, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists
Carrnac the Magnficent had a bad day Sunday - he picked Steve Murphy and Guy Glodis.
At least Murphys still a Boston city councilor for $87,500 a year. But Glodis? Its gotta hurt for the High Sheriff to have to start looking for his first real job at the age of 41.
Watch your back, VB. Not only Glodis, but also Joe Malone, is coming crawling back to the Fox Morning News show in Dedham, tails between their legs.
After yesterdays results, its pretty stark, though, the differences between the two parties. The only old-line Democrats left on the statewide ticket are Secretary of State Bill Galvin and Lt. Gov. Tim Murray. Everyone else is a flat-out moonbat.
No wonder Tim Cahill felt compelled to make a break for it, but Tuesday wasnt one of his better days, either. Does the phrase, Jump the shark come to mind?
What exactly were you doing, Tim, getting cold feet at the elementary school on Furnace Brook Parkway, except maybe winning next springs Profiles in Courage award, for being unafraid of throwing away your career, such as it is (or was), for the greater good of your boss, Deval Patrick?
Even though youve supposedly quit the Democrat party, you were there to vote in the Democratic primary. At least thats what you told me on the radio last week - What am I gonna do, not vote?
Well, yes, thats exactly what he did - not vote. Not until hours later, when he got a written note from the secretary of state that no one would throw you off the ballot if you, a former Democrat, voted for all your pals in the primary.
Initially, Cahill said in one of his several public statements of the day, I had hoped to exercise my civic duty; however, complication arising from rumored challenges to my candidacy . . .
Rumors? He ran away because of a . . . rumor.
What did Nathan Hale say? I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.
Tim Cahill said to his fellow Democrat hacks in Quincy: Hey, Id love to vote for all-a youse (for that is indeed how he pronounces the plural of you) but Im a-scared of the State Ballot Law Commission.
As Bugs Bunny would say, what a maroon. A few hours later, he slithered back to the Bernazzani School and cast his vote. Henceforward, the treasurer will no longer be known as Christy Cahill. His new moniker is H. Ross Cahill.
Watch out, VB. Its not only Malone and Glodis wholl be needing jobs come January.

Maybe Rush Radio 1200 figures it should put on more Rush, their heaviest syndie hitter? (They also have local with Jeff Katz). I started my own kind of “Save WRKO” type board and someone
was wondering why they were hearing Rush instead of Hannity/Lewis, etc.
And I get this on Rush Radio 1200’s Facebook:
>>Tune in weeknights at 6 p.m. for Rush Hour - another daily dose of El Rushbo!
Sounds like they mean to grab all those people stuck in traffic with...more Rush...on Rush Radio...

Sorry, John Kerry, our Tea tastes better than your Kool-Aid
By Howie Carr | Friday, September 17, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists
Sen. John Kerry is a bitter clinger.
How did Barack Obama describe these people back in 2008?
People have been beaten down so long, Obama said in San Francisco (where else?), its not surprising that they get bitter or cling to their $7 million foreign-built yachts and their six mansions and their private jet and their trust funds from their elderly second wives first husbands estates.
OK, so I paraphrased it a little bit, but when you get right down to it, Kerry is one of those bitter clingers Barack has such withering contempt for. America didnt realize Kerrys wonderfulness and hes never gotten over it.
Even nuttier, he still thinks somebody in Ohio stole the presidential election from him in 2004 and now these same people with calluses on their hands expect him to pay his fair share like hes one of the little people or something?
Taxes? John Kerry dont have to pay no stinkin taxes. Hes a Democrat.
So now Liveshot Kerry, skipper of The Botched Joke out of Newport, R.I., er, somewhere in Massachusetts now - has sent out an angry fund-raising missive to all of his fellow Beautiful People:
Click here to contribute right now to make sure we defeat the Tea Party extremists.
Theyre extreme all right. They have real jobs, and they pay their taxes before they get caught.
Its Sarah Palins party now.
What an idiot. No wonder so many people on the Internet yesterday were noticing how similar Kerry now seems to those typical white people in Pennsylvania Barack Obama was talking about - the ones full of antipathy towards people who arent like them and use them to explain their frustrations.
You know who John Kerry is talking about. People who arent gigolos. People who dont own Ducati motorcycles or $7,000 bicycles. People who instinctively realize that Al Gore is a con man.
Ill tell you who else John Kerry has antipathy towards. Americans with those crappy little boats with Evenrude motors that go put-put-putting around Nantucket Harbor getting in his way.
A bunch of damned extremists who dont know their place is who those Tea Party people are.
Hey, John, you know how in 2004 you claimed you had all these working-class buddies on Nantucket you went windsurfing with?
Instead of ripping the Tea Party, why dont you and your mythical working-class buddies buy a Diebold voting machine and take it apart piece by piece and figure out how they stole the presidency from you in 2004?
Do we know who you are? Yes, we do. Youre next.

From your keyboard to God's ears, Howie! ;-)
My mother was, and my paternal grandmother was, back in Lithuania — I never heard of either using the proceeds for “beer and butts,” but my grandmother picked up a working knowledge of Yiddish!
I gave her the help she requested and went to go home, she paid me, I told her that She asked, I did, kind of an obligation in my family.
I grew up in an area where the only Jews that you knew were in the Bible. I got some references and did some work for her friends and family, met some nice people.
Massachusetts does not have a provision for ‘recall’.. who do we have to vote in to get this started??
JF’nK is a disgrace.
First we have to replace the current GOP state committee (not that I have a clue as to how!) so that they recruit -- or at least don't discourage or work against -- actual conservatives. Can't beat somebody with nobody!

Lets be Frank, Bills visit sets off alarms for Dems
By Howie Carr | Saturday, September 18, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists
Taunton High cheerleaders beware - Bill Clinton is coming to your school.
To campaign for Barney Frank. You cant make this stuff up.
Who knew that Barney Frank was this worried about getting himself re-elected to a 16th term in Congress? What in the name of Arthur Clarke and Peg Heckler is going on this year? Things are so bad for the Democrats that Bill Clinton, the two-term philanderer-in-chief, is coming to Taunton next week to stump for Barney. After all, they have so much in common. Barney loves Fannie Mae, Clinton loves...well...
The lesson here is that 2010 is not 2008, and Sean Bielat is not Earl Sholley. Im not saying Barney is going to lose Nov. 2, but that was a rather nervous Frank flier that landed in my mailbox last weekend.
Beyond the photos of him with Joe DeNucci and other denizens of Marian Manor, the text spelled out in excruciating detail how his LaRouche-ite opponent, whom Barney had earlier compared to a dining-room table, wanted to go to Mars, using the moon (fill in your joke here) as a rest stop (ditto on the joke).
And yet she still got 19 percent of the vote on Tuesday. Dont the voters realize, its guys like Barney who have made the House of Representatives into the House of Reprehensibles?
So welcome, Mr. President, to Taunton High School, home of the Tigers. I didnt know either of these guys was allowed within 1,000 feet of a school, but hey, neither one of them is as young as they used to be. Barney, I believe, has turned 70, and I think this next one may well be his final term, especially if the GOP takes over the House again.
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, now the financial-regulation fiasco - how much can one man do to, I mean, for his country?
Stevie Gobie could not be reached for comment yesterday. Neither could Monica Lewinsky.
Word in the Bayou - Bristol County - is that this stop has nothing to do with Barneys support of Hillary in the 2008 primaries - the cover story. Actually, someone told the president that Ines Sainz was planning to cover next weekends pivotal Taunton-Durfee tilt, and that shed be flying in a few days early to tape some pregame interviews.
