At a rally in Wasilla on Saturday, some 300 conservatives, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and GOP Senate candidate Joe Miller, remembered the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The crowd met for a "9/11 Remembrance rally" at the Menard Sports Center, a hockey and soccer facility championed by Palin when she was mayor of Wasilla.
The rally, organized by the Wasilla-based Conservative Patriots Group, was also attended by Miller, the Tea Party-backed Republican who recently bested U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the GOP primary thanks in part to Palin's endorsement.
Amid conservatives waving flags, Miller shook hands with the crowd. "Joe Miller is a fine man -- not some hick out of the woods," said Stan Roach, the pastor of Independent Baptist Church of Anchorage, who attended the Wasilla rally. "Joe Miller is the caliber of man that should be in the White House."
The rally was a prelude to Saturday evening's Glenn Beck event in Anchorage. Palin is scheduled to make an appearance alongside Beck. On Tuesday, the former Alaska governor posted on Facebook that, "We can count on Glenn to make the night interesting and inspiring, and I can think of no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will never forget."
At the Wasilla rally, the crowd watched images from the 9/11 terrorist attacks on a big screen. Roach, who led a prayer service, said in an interview that he was worried Islam was taking over the world.
"We have cowards in the White House," he said. "We're afraid to say anymore that we're a Christian nation. Islam has stated they want to rule the world, and they are taking over."

If I know Sarah, she made careful plans to be present, and it was no spur of the moment action despite her scheduled appearance in Anchorage.
The media can't EVER write about Sarah without dismissing her motives and patriotism, even when the action is unquestionably positive.

That’s the truth. She didn’t just “pop-in” or “drop-in” on a lark. Today is 9/11 for crying out loud and Sarah Palin is a patriot. Just imagine had Wasilla’s most famous citizen, not attended.
