There has to be something between the polarized extremes.
Go ahead and protest Islam by burning Korans or any other thing that is your property at Ground Zero if that floats your boat. Have a grand old time. But don’t call this the face of Christianity because it isn’t.
It is one face of Christianity: defending individual rights.
What you advocate -- rolling over and indulging the egotistic vanity of "being civil" and better than others -- betrays the face of Christianity. Indeed, the peaceful, bloodless burning of Korans, the non-lethal, non-violent purely symbolic and necessary warning to Muslims not to cross this line, is INDEED the very face of Christianity.
Going out into the streets and murdering Muslims wholesale, burning them alive or beheading them as they live, THAT would be betraying the face of Christianity. Burning Korans NOW may very well save bloodshed later. I suggest you rethink your take on what the face of Christianity looks like.
But HiTech...Jesus did turn over the money changers tables and used a whip as he did so...all the while crying out with a “loud” voice...” Do not make my Fathers house a den of thieves”.
The Koran and it’s vile teachings oppose all that is Godly and they will continue to believe what they do as long as the Imans push this hateful, death wishing, propoganda on it’s people....the gun to their heads IS the Koran.
Acts 19:19
Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together,
and burned them before all men:
and they counted the price of them,
and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
