All-universe quarterback Brett Favre will wear Minnesota Vikings purple tonight against the New Orleans Saints during the opening game of the National Football League's 2010 season.
But when Farve plays politics, he's bathed in blue, having teamed with his wife, Deanna, to donate $4,800 toward the 2010 re-election campaign of Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.).

I always wondered why Rush mocked “Brett Favre, Brett Favre, Brett Favre.”
Maybe he knew he was a RAT.
Go figure - a selfish “me-ahead-of-the-team” attention wh*** who is also a liberal.
Favre also has a commercial out with Remington shotguns
Well, did anyone ever think Favre was Mensa candidate?
LOL LOL LOL good one
I was at Southern Miss when Favre was QB and also when Taylor first was elected. I voted against him but he has turned out to be probably more conservative than most Republicans.
The fact that he and Favre both live in Hattiesburg may also have something to do with it.
Glad my Saints whupped his azz...
Gene Taylor’s district is one of the most conservative in the country. How is it represented by a Dem. I don’t get it.
Gene Taylor is as conservative as any Republican
No conservative would vote for her.
he shouldn’t be on commercials on the hunting channels then.....rats don’t really believe in guns or hunting, and they are moving to outlaw all of it.....just look at the judges they appoint...
after a little research, it looks like this taylor guy is liberal on a lot of economic issues, but is pro-life, pro-gun, anti illegal immigrant, and takes a tough stance on crime. i think there are worse candidates he could contribute to.
we can not give the rats even a victory anywhere....JMHO of course...
Oh, I agree with you, that is why I voted against him, still he has turned out to be far better than I expected.
don't buy it folks....
Wow, Brett Favre a dem....he just got knocked down another peg or 2 for a lot of people—me being one of those people.
He’s always strongly supported the military veterans and there’s a lot of military retirees living in the Biloxi area. Even my diehard Republican dad likes Taylor. That would be my guess as to why Farve is supporting him - he’s extremely popular down this way. I’m just hoping he wises up and changes party affiliation after the election...
I have always wondered how many Steelers players are Democrat or Republican.
You can’t be a conservative and vote for Nancy Pelosi as your leader.
Period.
It’s a gimmick.
