On the eve of Sept. 11, Fox News has learned the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency has attempted to block a book about the tipping point in Afghanistan and a controversial pre-9/11 data mining project called "Able Danger."
In a letter obtained by Fox News, the DIA says national security could be breached if "Operation Dark Heart" is published in its current form. The agency also attempted to block key portions of the book that claim "Able Danger" successfully identified hijacker Mohammed Atta as a threat to the United States before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks........

"...On September 21, 2006, The Washington Post reported that a Defense Department investigation into Able Danger found that Able Danger did not identify Mohamed Atta or any other hijacker before the September 11 attacks, and that a widely discussed chart was "a sample document passed to the military as an example of how to organize large amounts of data," and was created after 9/11...."
They are going to a lot of extra trouble to suppress a book about a project they trashed years ago.

Because that would make it Clinton’s fault. Cant have that!
What would the “truthers” think?
No one likes egg on the face. Not even spooks.
Right! It does smell.
The good General has provided Retired Lt Colonel Shaffer tons of free publicity. Good on him!!!!!!!!
Trying to suppress the book is the surest way to guarantee brisk sales. The Able Danger Project was huge news around FR back in the day.
Sounds like DIA is running a memory hole operation. What meeting? Never took place. The problem is that there’s always a paper trail these days and the memory hole trick doesn’t appear to be working.
The intelligence community gets themselves into big trouble when they go beyond protecting national secrets and try to protect political asses.
The permanent government in Washington D.C. will always “circle the wagons” to defend its own bureaucratic history and it will seek to get the elected leaders to help it do so, in typical “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” fashion.
All they have done is make the story bigger.
Recalling Congressman Kurt Weldon.
The new mantra they fall on is “it puts the troops in danger.”
Waiting to hear it in in this case. I am sickened by anyone using that line to cover their own ass.
Curt Weldon ping
Glad you brought him up! To think we lost him for Sestak.
i thought they DID identify Atta...and that’s why everything suddenly got lost...
The Ruling Class is not Happy .
Pentagon aims to buy up book (LTC Anthony Shaffer - Able Danger)
The powers that be were arrayed against Weldon. The Pentagon protects it’s own at the expense of Americans.
