My Sweden often prides itself with enjoying a higher standard of living than all other countries do.
But does Sweden really beat America and Switzerland?
Another question:
Is there "real" poverty in Sweden?

I guess that depends on the definition of “standard of living”. I would rather nuke Sweden than live there. lol.
Sweden is a wonderful play to visit....I did in May (near the time of the wedding) and I would not want to live there full time or even part time. The taxes are 60 percent at least. And to own a “junker” car, you are paying 60,000 dollars for basic car. Yes medical and education are free though. But you pay through the roof for everything else. I really don’t think they have any poor like in America at least not standing outside begging or anything that I saw in Stockholm....that does not mean there are none though.

To be fair, with their recent divorce settlement, Tiger’s ex-wife has raised the average standard of living in Sweden a bit recently.
Apples to oranges. Sweden and Switzerland are essentially small homogeneus populations, with unitary governments and limited geography. Much different than the US with its diverse population, territory and federal form of government. I consider my life in West Texas preferable to that of a citizen in Stockholm who would likely consider his much better than a citizen of Detroit.
Sweden seems very nice. But any comparisons are silly. Less than ten million verses 300+ million? You can do anything you want with such a disparity.
But good for Sweden if they are happy with their system. More power to them. They should be happy.
