The pastor at the centre of the Koran-burning row has challenged a New York Imam to call off the building of a mosque at Ground Zero.
Pastor Terry Jones and his colleague Pastor K A Paul read out their telephone number live on television and said the Imam has just two hours to respond.
"It appear that the pastor has reconsidered his earlier deal over the New York mosque."

It is not. Muslims build victory mosques near successful attacks. That's not emotion. It's fact.
So what? How does it follow from this fact that we shouldn't allow this mosque?
The Imam, Rauf, has said if it's NOT built, there will be violence. That's fact.
Again, I ask, so? How is that an argument against building it?
And that's about national security. Islam is a form of government wrapped in the mantle of religion. That's a fact too.
No it's not. Islamism and Islam aren't the same thing. Not all practitioners of Islam are Islamists.
And they want a bigger foothold in America. There are already 30 mosques in NYC. That's a fact.

I wouldn’t give Jones all the credit for attracking so much attention. The leftist media decided this was the biggest thing since Katrina and they built up Jones and the event to epic proportions.
From what I have read from missionaries and evangelists, Muslims are the most difficult to witness to of any group, because of the pervasiveness of Islam in every aspect of a Muslim’s life, and because of the real potential of repercussions to a convert. They are as bent-more bent-on converting the world to Islam, as any evangelical or fundamentalist Christian, as testified by their willingness to use violence to force a “conversion”. At least Christians know true conversion to Christianity can’t be compelled, nor are Christians given “permission” by the Bible (as opposed to the Islamic doctrine of “taqiyya”) to lie about their faith for any purpose. We (Christians) are to live and die, if necessary, without renouncing Christ.

I'd say General Patreaus deserves most of the blame. He's the one who brought the nation's attention to Jones.
This is the same group which wanted the Abu Ghraib photos released and applauded the wikileaks and New York Slimes leaks of sensitive information. They could care less about troops being killed, they just hate anyone who shows Islam for the demonic barbaric cult of death that it is. Plus anyone who hates America or Christians is their natural ally.
If Petreaus were intelligent, he would now claim this was an information warfare operation using maneuver warfare art. By leveraging the Ground Zero Mosque debate, with the public perception of a Muslim President in stealth, then clamoring about some innocuous planted preacher of 50 making the 9/11 memorial a national Burn the Koran Day, he has been able to generate adequate public concern so that enemies of the US will tend to vent their outrage.
With so little time left in theater, he is now able to adequately target the most likely threats against the US.
(Of course, if I thought this had been his ulterior motive I would remain silent, but instead I suspect groupings of leadership with Hillary, Obama, and flag ranked officers who willingly burn Bibles are hardly savvy competent leaders, but might be confidants of whatever the cabal du jour happens to be.....)

PC is a rot. In America, in Europe.
But, I would venture to say it’s not that deep of a rot. Most “normal” people reject it. It’s just infected our “elite” classes.
People in Kentucky or Skjelleftå doesn’t care that much.

The Mosque is not bad. I see one out here, near Pittsburg. It has a half moon and a nice big sword for the logo. Like the one they use to cut off heads. Near Ground Zero, the sword would fit in facing the hole in the ground.
I could not agree with you more. Instead of hiding our heads in the sand like a bunch of cowards, like I belive they think we will do, it may be time to “TAKE THE FIGHT TO “THEM”!!

I would agree with you about the PCness but the sad fact of the matter is that in America, the political elites of BOTH parties, the civil service bureaucracy, the advocacy groups along with the blowdried media brain dead fluffernutters don’t care and WILL impose their will upon the people.
In MA, the legislature has overturned or ignored the wishes of the people as specified in ballot referendums.
I am a realist, often called a pessimist and believe that the tsunami of regulations and diktats is leading us into one doozy of a dystopic future.
And the elections this year, well, based on how the Republicans acted last time they were the majority in Congress, along with the fact that many of them are UberNannyists as well, make me seek solace in, to quote Sinatra, Wine, Women and Song.
And what’s all the fuss about burning the Koran?
I mean, in the South, in decades past, they used to even burn the Cross, and those were all Christians burning it!
It is chock-a-block with stock breeding, health and hygiene, and business info. Why it even contains instructions on the correct way to move one's bowels, micturation, and other helpful sanitary tips for those on caravan, or those raiding caravans to carry off the infidels' women, children, plunder, and other sex objects.

Most of us Muslims, by the way, are peace-loving folks who just want to marry a few of our first cousins and lead productive lives, not to mention a happy reproductive life so we can eventually outnumber you infidels and vote in Shari'a Law.
