Nearly every Sept. 11 since Sept. 11, Hadidjatou Karamoko Traoré has made sure that her three children were dressed in their best clothes, and taken them from their tidy brick home in the Bronx to the pit where the World Trade Center stood, and where her husband, their father, worked and died.
After the attacks, all that was found of Abdoul-Karim Traoré, a cook at the Windows on the World restaurant, were his leather wallet, his identification cards and a few coins.
“I like to go down there and pray and see the place and remember,” said Mrs. Traoré, a native of Ivory Coast who came to the United States in 1997. “When I go there, I feel closer to him. And him to me. I pray for him, too.”
When she prays, she calls God Allah. Mrs. Traoré, 40, says praying in the pit feels entirely natural, even if some of those standing with her — widows and widowers, parents and children — blame her religion for the destruction of that day.
“That’s not fair,” she said. “It’s not because of Allah that these buildings fell.”
Mrs. Traoré is the widow of one of roughly 60 Muslim victims — cooks, businessmen, emergency responders and airline passengers — believed to have died on 9/11. It is a group that has been little examined, and no precisely reliable count of their ranks exists. But their stories, when told, have frequently been offered as counterweights in the latest public argument over terrorism and Islam.

I don't care how God da*ned insensitive, callous this comment has me portraying myself. Considering the depths in which this excrescent, toilet paper of record has plumbed all, every conceivable elucidation of Anti-American, pathologically demented moonbattery the human mind could possibly conjure up, it's quite the achievement for them to outdo themselves to such dubious, cesspool-bottom-dwelling acclaim in sheer brazen moonbattery as they've done here but one should never underestimate the ability of this septic-tank marinated rag to do just this very thing.
Only the New York Slimes could have the utter temerity to dredge up a story of a 9/11 widow who is of the Muslim faith in regards to what is America's most solemn, somber national day of mourning as an abomination in every sense of the word, an utter disgrace to the memory of all those who lost their lives simply only because they were American. I won't, can't go on and will let this story speak for itself.
Enjoy your children Mrs. Traoré. They blow up so fast...

the left constant trot out why we have religious freedom and points to history of religious persecution. What they missed is that we have a history of persecution of CHRISTIANS and JEWS. Its history repeating itself

You know what else isn't fair? 3000 Americans dying at the hands of people shouting "Allah akbar!"
So please, spare us your whining. That you could stand at that place, knowing others nearby blame your religion, while Christians or Jews would be STONED for simply appearing in Mecca, says all anyone needs to know about your pisspoor religion.

I kind of get my pants in a bunch whenever I hear Islam referred to as a religion.
That’s not to say that many religions don’t have some fanatics or dark periods in their history. Islam is, however, the only “religion” (that I know of) that has, as it’s major tenent, the establishment of worldwide domination and the deconstruction of modern society.
(Granted the Amish want to live in the past, but I do believe they want to be there by themselves!)
