Dad, look at your boy. He is a fine, brave man, doing his duty, making you proud, even in his greatest test, in his final hour.
As for the rest of his, this young man’s sacrifice teaches us nothing, if we don’t get out the vote for November 2nd like the future of America depends on it.
Because, it does.
gave me chills.... prayers for his family and their endless heartache :-(
These brave firefighters saved so many people on that awful day. May they all have a special place with the LORD for making the ultimate sacrifice in the face of great evil.
Just one of 3,000 reasons that mosque cannot be built by Ground Zero.
And knowing that a Mosque will be built close to where he died makes me SICK.
As much as any of our military heroes, these firefighters were on the front lines, and were the first to fall in this war. God bless this father who has had to endure this heartbreak.
I’ve always wondered how many of them knew in their gut “This is it”, but charged up the stairwells anyway. Big brass ones, all of them.
Let’s build a mosque in his memory just blocks from where he died and call it reconciliation.....
What do you think of that idea?
What? How can you be so intolerant?
You bigot, racist, islamophobe.....what else can I call you....
There is no word to call a parent who has lost their child.
Oh. I’ll just find a new insult to use.
I’m sure you will...
My son (11) came home from school today and told me his substitute teacher was reviewing a list of heroes in his social sciences unit and among the names was Oboobma. I asked if he knew what the list was based upon. He wasn’t sure. I looked him in the eye and told him the definition of a hero could be found in the first responders who raced INTO those towers and that cockpit above PA 9 years ago.
At least I know one item I’ll be reviewing in my first parent/teacher conference.
“Let’s Roll”
These men understood the risk they were taking. True heroes.
God bless them, everyone of them.
This is sad beyond words...
WE WILL NEVER FORGET
NY Firemen are heros each and every day.
They fight fires with crazy/brave interior attack methods. They go INTO burning buildings and apply water, rather than hosing down from the outside.
Some days, they get murdered by muslims.
I have to wonder sometimes if we are worthy of men like this! I also recall that several days after the attack a photo appeared in one or more of the local NY papers that showed an FDNY truck, lights flashing, responding across the Brooklyn Bridge to the towers. The entire crew on that truck was killed when the towers collapsed and the truck was destroyed by falling debris. The image of that truck and knowing what happened to those men left me awe struck at their bravery.
Will America Fight or be Tolerant? Look at the Picture America, Look at it.
Every time I read these stories I think of this guy...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Rescorla
Security for Morgan Stanley who ignored advise of the building officials who told them to stay put. He had them singing "God Bless America" as he evacuated them. He saved almost 3,000 lives...but not his own.
He was an amazing man with a great story.
Amen, pnh102.
The History Channel had a show about him that we watched this evening. I believe they referred to him as the man who predicted 9/11.
I made sure to have a box of tissues nearby...was glad I did.
Very brave. RIP.
