A Florida pastor backed away from plans to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11 after U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates phoned him, capping several surreal days of drama in which his plans ricocheted around the world, sowing anger among Muslims and concern at the Pentagon.
Mr. Gates's phone call, in which he warned Rev. Terry Jones that the planned event could imperil U.S. troops, came hours after President Barack Obama slammed Mr. Jones's plan as a "stunt" and "a recruitment bonanza for al Qaeda."
"Secretary Gates reached out to Pastor Jones this afternoon," a Pentagon official said. "They had a very brief phone conversation during which the Secretary expressed his grave concern" that the Quran-burning would put American forces at risk, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan. "He urged the Pastor not to proceed with it," the official said.

Can you imagine the Allies in World War II taking a similar line? Hey, we can’t bomb Berlin, because that will make the Germans want to retaliate, and someone might get hurt.
Is this before or after Trump made his offer and before or after the imam said no deal?

Remember in the movie “Patton”, where the Germans couldn’t understand why there was so much fuss about Patton slapping the soldier.
Incidentally, I just ordered my own copy of the book from Amazon, and will be having a burning party some time in the near future. I encourage everybody to join me with burning ceremonies of their own.

Sheesh what a bunch of drama queens. Mullah Obama, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, General in Afghanistan all want exposure in the public domain over this nutter’s plan.
Let me be clear. The FBI came down to Gainesville and had a little prayer meeting with the good pastor and put the fear of Obama in him. There will now not be a Koran burning. But by God there will be a Muslim Mosque built 2 blocks from Ground Zero.
Ask yourself how a a small 50 person church burning one book could cause an international wave of Muslim riots in foreign countries. Not to mention the wrath of the US Govt and the smear merchants on all channels including Fox News tonight. This tells you all you need to know about Islam. I hate to keep quoting the President of Eqypt but “There is no such thing as moderate Islam. There is only Islam” This is all you need to know about Islam. There may be much more to know about the curent occupant of the White House.

Barry was so obtunded in the ABC interview that he looked to be
back on street drugs ( if he ever kicked )
or in in the throes of a major depressive episode.
There is no way any objective person could conclude
he “ slammed “ anything.
The video of Barry’s interview was so bad, it looked like it was playing in the wrong speed.

The burning will be back on as soon as the Florida Pastor realizes he’s been duped.
His plans did not sow any anger whatsoever among Muslims. Muslims are already angry that the world is not Muslim. They are no less angry now. They would have been no more angry is the Pastor burned the Koran. And I can prove it: No matter what happened with the burning, Muslims still would - and still do - demand that every human being on planet Earth submit to Islam and Sharia law...
...or die.
That's called terminal anger. Terminal hate. Terminal murderous intent. It does not get worse, no matter how much it is inflamed. It does not ease up, no matter how much it is placated. It wants you enslaved, or dead. Period.
