Donald Trump is offering to buy out one of the major investors in the real estate partnership that controls the site near ground zero where a Muslim group wants to build a 13-story Islamic center and mosque.
In a letter released Thursday by Trump's publicist, the real estate investor tells Hisham Elzanaty he would buy his stake in the lower Manhattan building for 25 percent more than whatever he paid.
Trump says he's making the offer not because he thinks the location is spectacular but because it would end "a very serious, inflammatory, and highly divisive situation."
It's unclear whether Elzanaty has total control over the property, which is owned by an eight-member investment group managed by Soho Properties.

Thanks to the Imam’s string-pulling and palm-greasing, the question of “historical preservation” of the site has ended, clearing the way for other well-funded investors to swoop in and purchase a VERY valuable piece of real estate. Trump may have lofty principles for buying the site to prevent the mosque, but he will also make a lot of money from whatever he does with the site.
...I wonder if the _Kelo_ decision could thus be used in our favor: NYC & NY will make a lot more tax revenue from Trump’s use of the property than the Imam’s, so having removed the zoning restriction from the site the zoning board is all but obligated to hand it over to the highest bidder (Trump).
Trump could be positioning himself to run for Mayor of New York....
Ending this issue single handedly could earn him a good chunk of vote in the next election.

Either way, the muzzies that started this walk away laughing. Either they build the mosque and when we get attacked, the MSM claims it’s because of anti-muslim sentiment like koran burning in Florida. Or they sell at a cool 25% profit and when we get attacked, the MSM claims it’s because of anti-muslim sentiment over moving the mosque. No matter what, they’re setting it up so when we are attacked they can say we had it coming.
What they won’t expect is that I don’t think regular Americans are going to be as ready to accept that verdict as they think we will be.
Wasn’t it recently revealed that the property was, ahem, ‘officially’ sold for a fraction of what others were offering (that is, way, way below market value)? Awfully generous of the Donald to try to take it off their hands for only 25% above that cut-rate price.
If you think the whole thing has been a farce from the beginning, are you suggesting that the Muslims are STILL kicking a sleeping Giant and ignorant about HOW we truly think as a people?
