Yesterday, I called on Christian politicians who had opposed, on the grounds of sensitivity, the Islamic community center in Lower Manhattan to denounce the insensitivity of the pastor provocateur Terry Jones, who is planning to burn Qurans at his Gainesville, Florida, church on September 11. I also called out Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich by name.
Today, Sarah Palin, at least, weighed in.
On Twitter, she wrote, Koran Burning Is Insensitive, Unnecessary; Pastor Jones, Please Stand Down.
On Facebook, she spelled out her position in more detail:
Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation

You’re bitterly,hate-filled and hopeless. Clueless, to put it mildly.
Nowhere in her statements did she molly-coddle Muslims or Islam. No “religion of peace” or tender mercies toward them or their religion.
She tied the Ground Zero Victory Mosque to the Koran burning and even gave the double-wide trailer “pastor” respect.
Look at the bright side. If as you say, freepers are too stupid to know how to click and read an excerpted piece, at least they were spared Palin’s inane equivalency of the GZM and some unknown pastor exercising his constitutional rights.
Yep. Now I can fully understand why you can pretend she’s not an amnesty queen. You’ve gulped the palinspin koolaid.
BTW, I’m not bitter in the least. I’m rather entertained by the PCC.
Update: Book burning is bad. But the Muslim cleric who is running for parliament in Afghanistan is calling for the murder of American children in response to scorched Korans, which is worse. Where is the media's focus?
I think you’d find yourself in a minuscule minority with that opinion, but I imagine you are used to that by now.
I don’t get her un American part. Exercising a person’s Constitutional rights is as American as apple pie.
Committing terrorist acts because someone in America exercised their rights is un American.
I concur with your synopsis.
FYI, she’s updated her Facebook post.

The media should be very proud of itself for sending this two-bit, doublewide preacher’s story “world-wide”.
Palin is correct and has the courage to take a stand. I’m not sure I understand the people that think the Ground Zero Mosque is a provocation but the Quran burning is not...
Thou the Quran burning will certainly get the ROP to prove once again, they aren’t the religion of peace.
Please post an article stating Duncan Hunters position.. Im sure your FEARLESS and great leader has taken a stand by now. NOT!
IF he ever does, It will be the Same as Palin’s, if he had the courage to take a stand that is. He doesn’t and won’t.
How about DeMint? DEAD SILENCE is not a mark of courage. I suspect he will eventually come out, just like Palin.
I hope so, I would like to think hes one of the good guys.
I hadn't heard this. That is extremely disturbing.
FYI 2, she just endorsed Delaware’s O’Donnell on Hannity’s show.
He could preach against it on a regular basis, work to stop Muslims from getting preferential treatment in Gainesville and being allowed to wander the campus handing out Korans and proselytizing, and offer classes to the public on the evils of Islam.
Or maybe DeMint might not think he needs to be new Gladys Kravitz and comment on things that are none of his business?
I am listening to Hannity!
Woo-Hoo!
GO CHRISTINE!
Another lie from you, but that’s your M. O.
BS
In your dreams, possessed troll, and yes, you’ve reached troll status.
You are correct, he is a true troll.
Of course his hero Duncan Hunter, is dead silent on the issue. As is his other hero Demint.
I hope Demint comes out and says the exact same thing Palin said. I really want him to be one of the good guys.
he lived in London when he published the Satanic Verses, which was the time pissant put at issue
