"The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore," Castro tells an American journalist when asked whether the Cuban economic and political system was worth exporting.
WASHINGTON Cubas Fidel Castro used an interview with a U.S. magazine to urge Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to abandon Holocaust denial and refrain from slandering Jews and confess that the Cuban model doesn't work.
Castro, whose recent public pronouncements have been dominated by warnings that a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran could spark a nuclear war, invited a journalist with The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to Havana to discuss the writers recent article on Israel and Iran.
In the first installment of several Atlantic articles on their exchanges, Castro told Goldberg that the Iranian government must understand the consequences of anti-Semitic theology.
...
In the second installment from a series of meetings with Castro, Goldberg says Castro was asked whether the Cuban economic and political system was worth exporting.
"The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore," Castro responded. He didn't expand on the comment.
Wish he would tell that to BHO, Pelousy and Reid. They’re still true believers.
Meanwhile, in other news, Sean Penn’s head explodes.
The closest any socialist state ever came to working was probably Yugoslavia.
Are you listening Michael Moore, Dan Rather and Baba Wawa?
In another news item, Michael Moore’s head explodes.
It’s friggin about time some commie dictator admitted it.
Long past time. Long past due.
Obama, you listening?
“The closest any socialist state ever came to working was probably Yugoslavia.”
I was there. It didn’t work.
I do think I would spend money to see that.
Which begs the question...
Apparently Obama’s shining example has won him over to Maoism!
1. Russia and Israel signs a military cooperation
2. Cuba abandons communism
3. Chavez and Castro accusing Iran of antisemitism...
I was born in 1977 and reality was totally different
I can here the wail from Kos.
Paging Mr. Michael Moore....
In light of this doesn;t Michael Moore owe theUS an apology?
Christopher Andrew in his book (The KGB and the Battle for the Third World) relates an event from the meeting of intelligence services friendly to the Soviet Union as follow:
At the final meeting of soviet-bloc intelligence services (also attended by Cuba, Mongolia and Vietnam) in East Berlin in 1988, the speeches included examples of black humor unthinkable before. One delegation leader asked the question, What is socialism? then gave the politically incorrect answer: The most difficult and tortuous way to progress from capitalism to capitalism.
Twenty two years later Cuba is finally telling the world.
You can hear the libera;s’ excuse now, “Well, he didn’t practice REAL Communism.” The same alibi they used when USSR caved in.
It never did work
