Why is this such a big deal?

He's simply agreeing with with one of our high-profile generals.
There is a bigger story here, why isn't that being articulated?

Exactly. Petraeus is doing more harm that good and he is giving that thug the words to beat us. Thank you Petraeus. General, you are not supposed to defend the “president” you are supposed to defend The Constitution!!! Now the islamists are having a great day with that nonsense. They must think of us “what a weak country”.

The bigger story is that liberals have thrown away their own sacred principle of "separation of church and state" to side with an alien and hostile religion. They turn a blind eye to that loathsome Phelps guy who desecrates funerals of our military to invite a suit that will bring him millions. In the name of his "free speech", we have to shut up and take whatever crap he dishes out.

Since the Supreme Court said that burning the American flag was "protected symbolic free speech", will liberals and cowards elevate the koran above that principle? This pastor is free to burn his own Bible, the American flag, his money, and anything else that does not create a fire hazard.

But now that islamic terrorists, their sympathizers, and self-proclaimed dhimmis oppose his First Amendment rights, the entire country is being threatened by another cowardly attack if we don't submit.

These murderous coward islamists have murdered innocent Americans for no reason. Will they try to kill us deader if they now think they have a reason? I'm afraid that the majority of our "best and brightest" have proclaimed the USA a "dhimmi nation" rather than standing firmly for the First Amendment and our highest standard, that of "separation of church and state". Their greatest principles were the first ones they threw overboard upon reading a press release.

“There is a bigger story here, why isn’t that being articulated?”

OPINION: I think, I believe that bigger story is, and why I support General Patraeus on the burning of the Afghan language Bibles is to the effect that we DO have a Commander in Chief that DOES NOT support his military as he is responsible to do, therefore we have to think along the lines of what is the General’s next move, his next choice?

As a General in the position he is in, and during a war against barbarians of dubious humanity, and without the support of the Commander in Chief the mission to win the war becomes focused upon saving the lives of as many an American military personnel as one can possibly save under the circumstances.

I’d say General Patraeus has his hands full, and we aren’t helping matters crapping all over his head about burning some Bibles that very possibly would make that portion of his job of keeping our Soldiers alive that much more difficult.

If the General was allowed to fight this war to win it I’m certain things would be different. It isn’t going to happen under the Leftist/Moozie Obamajesty. It isn’t going to happen.

Impeach Obama as soon as we possibly can.
