CNSNews.com) - In the first 19 months of the Obama administration, the federal debt held by the public increased by $2.5260 trillion, which is more than the cumulative total of the national debt held by the public that was amassed by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan.
The U.S. Treasury Department divides the federal debt into two categories. One is debt held by the public, which includes U.S. government securities owned by individuals, corporations, state or local governments, foreign governments and other entities outside the federal government itself. The other is intragovernmental debt, which includes I.O.U.s the federal government gives to itself when, for example, the Treasury borrows money out of the Social Security trust fund to pay for expenses other than Social Security

Bush’s wars are the problem
I blame Bush.

yup and adding more...now they are going to bail out ups and screw fedx
Yup. it’s all bushes fault. Hillary came out about the debt today, and blamed bush. If the Pubs don’t find a way to get the message to the people like Reagan did, we’re screwed.
payoffs.
Advice to Obama: Prepare two letters...
He is a menace to our nation and damn near everyone living here.
We were given fair warning before the November 2008 election. 'Hope and Change' was the name of the game. 'Hope and Change' turned into 'Smoke and Mirrors!'
Obama bamboozled millions... gave them the old 'okee doke.' What a moron. He can have as extreme a views as he wants. But he can't transfer them and remake America with them.
Time to end the experiment brought on by the piss-steam media and the Bush derangement crowd.
“Bushs wars are the problem”
Would you please elaborate?
I’m not a fan of Bush’s fiscal policy, but he’s getting a bum rap.
“When President Barack Obama took the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2009, the total federal debt held by the public stood at 6.3073 trillion, according to the Bureau of the Public Debt, a division of the U.S. Treasury Department. As of Aug. 20, 2010, after the first nineteen months of President Obamas 48-month term, the total federal debt held by the public had grown to a total of $8.8333 trillion, an increase of $2.5260 trillion.”
That’s an awful big increase over such a short period of time. It’s over 2.5 thousand million in 19 months!

Who doesn’t have a problem with Bush?
Let’s see...
Had Bin Laden at Tora Bora - Bush agrees to cease-fire - Bin Laden escapes.
Bush pushes through the Patriot Act - he must be listening to Rahm as well.
Bush doesn’t veto all the garbage spending of the DEM controlled congress.
Bush pushes through TARP and says...”We had to abandon the principles of the free market to save the free market”.
Bush is a Progressive, just like McCain and just like Obama.
The real question...why don’t you have a problem with Bush?
I also had a few problems with Bush, but don’t blame him for everything that went wrong.
Yes the DEM’s bear just as much if not more responsibility for the things that have happened.
Unfortunately Bush is a big reason we have OZero and why the GOP has become the likes of Lindsay Graham, McCain and Michael Steele...what an embarrassment!!!
I wish people would read this before posting it. The title is very misleading. Obama has more than doubled the existing debt, which is bad enough.
But if you added up all the debt each president has incurred, without taking into account how much debt some of those presidents have paid down, Obama wouldn’t come close to exceeding it, like the title strongly suggests.
There are razors for that sort of thing.
Really?
